The weekend has finally arrived. In two days we will all know who will be playing for the Lombardi trophy in Super Bowl XLVI, two weeks from now. Will it be a 2007 rematch of the Giants and Patriots? Or will it be a family affair featuring brothers as head coaches playing eachother for the first time in NFL postseason history? The Giants are being heralded as the NFL's hottest team right now, making them a favorite in many expert predictions. but that's what everyone said about the New Orleans Saints last weekend and look how that turned out. Many are looking to the weather to play a critical role in this game. My thoughts? It won't matter, not in a big way at least. San Francisco is San Francisco. Michael Crabtree: Drops Kept me from Sleeping

Michael Crabtree tied for the 49ers lead with 10 targets last weekend against the Saints, but he only hauled in 4 passes for 28 yards and a touchdown. He dropped three passes, nearly matching half of his season total of 7. Crabtree says the mistakes bothered him throughout the week. “That’s not normal for me to drop the ball. Two or three drops, I mean, it haunted me. I...

Michael Crabtree Frustrated By His Role

After Sunday’s NFC Championship loss to the New York Giants,  San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Michael Crabtree expressed his displeasure with not having the ability to make plays. “Sometimes, you’ve just got to move the ball,” Crabtree said who was obviously frustrated. “You’ve got to make plays. Harbaugh's 49ers Get Down & Dirty

Jim Harbaugh may have been a quarterback in college and the NFL, but he hasn’t always viewed the game from a quarterback’s perspective. As the son of a successful college coach, Harbaugh – like his brother, John, the head coach of the Baltimore Ravens – sees the game in its entirety. And it’s why his San Francisco 49ers, who host the New York Giants...

It's not magic, it's Coughlin

Jim Harbaugh carved an NFL name for himself as a "Captain Comeback" quarterback. But as the 49ers head coach in the NFC Championship Game Sunday at rain-soaked Candlestick Park, he encountered a veteran adversary who has relished his position all season as Coach Bounce Back. Tom Coughlin? Not that you were ever worried, but your job as a sword-juggling, tightrope-walking...

Everything points to Crabtree: Can he be a No. 1 WR when the 49ers need him most?

* Straight from tomorrow morning’s paper, with a topper… -With Ted Ginn Jr. missing another practice today, it’s almost certain that the 49ers’ WR corps will be down to Michael Crabtree, Kyle Williams, Brett Swain and Joe Hastings. Put that up against Hakeem Nicks, Victor... Continue reading...

49ers Hope to Build on Season's Success

After coming so far, so fast, the 49ers will need some time to heal. Sunday’s sudden end to a dynamic, resurgent season for the San Francisco franchise – a 20-17 overtime loss to the New York Giants in the NFC Championship Game – hurts. “It’s not the end of the world,” Niners safety Donte Whitner told Bay Area News Group columnist Mark Purdy Sunday...

Keys to the game: 49ers, Giants

The 49ers need a third weapon in their passing game. The Giants won't let Vernon Davis get loose as he did against the Saints. They'll pay a lot of attention to Michael Crabtree, too. Delanie Walker may need to step forward.
