The 49ers announced they have inked wideout Brandon Carswell to a two-year deal Wednesday. To make room on the roster, the team waived tight end Cameron Morrah.

The Pete Carroll and Jim Harbaugh feud started a while ago back in the college football scene when Carroll was the coach at USC and Harbaugh at Stanford.
To say the least the two have a distaste for each other would be an understatement.
Now that both men are the head coaches in the NFC West, their rivalry has blossomed to a new level.
Carroll is the Seattle Seahawks coach...
A KICK OUT OF KICKS
You think Colin Kaepernick has enough shoes? The San Francisco 49ers star quarterback shared these photos of his sneaker collection on Instagram Thursday and, as you can see, his collection is pretty extensive. Based on what he shared in the photos, a rough estimate says he has about 100 pairs of shoes. Kaep has a [...]

During the 2012 NFL Draft, the San Francisco 49ers drafted Illinois wide receiver A.J. Jenkins with the 30th overall pick. Jenkins’ rookie season was uneventful to say the least as he only played in 37 snaps and was targeted once, which he dropped. However...
San Francisco 49ers offensive coordinator Greg Roman and head coach Jim Harbaugh are very happy with what they’ve seen from second-year receiver A.J. Jenkins.
“A.J. I thought, the last two days of last week (OTA) had the best two days he’s had since I’ve been here. Quinton Patton and Ricardo Lockette – they’re all stepping up. And it’s just going to be a continuing...
San Francisco 49ers defensive tackle Justin Smith says he’s coming along good after having surgery on his triceps.
He hasn’t been able to participate in full football activities, but after the torn triceps injury that limited him at the end of 2012, he has started putting his rehab behind him.
He says he’s still not 100 percent and the expectation is Smith will hit that...
Frank Gore doesn't see turning 30 as a bad thing, even if it's the age when most NFL running backs start to decline.
If anything, the San Francisco 49ers' career rushing leader has embraced the milestone and sees it as another means of motivation.
Not that Gore has ever needed extra incentive.
Whether it was being bypassed in the 2005 draft when he was the sixth running...
ST. LOUIS - Craig Dahl should have kept his mouth shut.
It was standard operating procedure for Dahl, a Rams safety last year who now is with the 49ers, to tell his new team why he believes his old team was able to stop San Francisco last year.
"Any time a player that's involved in a system changes addresses, there's always going to be some sort of debriefing,"...
Jim Harbaugh has used the recent run of suspensions on the division rival Seattle Seahawks for performance-enhancing drug infractions as a reminder to his own San Francisco team: Cheating won't be tolerated.
Harbaugh's reigning NFC champion 49ers had begun their three-day minicamp Tuesday when the coach was asked about the issue surrounding the Seahawks.
San Francisco 49ers head coach Jim Harbaugh and Seattle Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll have had an ongoing dislike for each other since Harbaugh was at Stanford, and Carroll was at USC.
That dislike has ratcheted up a ton since both teams are rivals in the same division, and both teams engaged in an arms race this off-season via the draft and free agency.
Both teams will...
49ers head coach Jim Harbaugh didn’t have a problem ripping the Seahawks for their numerous failed PED tests over the past year or so. “I’ve definitely noticed it,” Harbaugh said, via the Santa Rosa Press-Democrat. “You don’t know what it is. Even when people say what it is, you don’t know that that’s what it is. I’ve heard this thrown out or that, but that’s...
Heading into the club’s mandatory minicamp, the focus on the 49ers was clear: how will the team compensate for the loss of its best wide receiver Michael Crabtree? Inside is a look at how the rest of the receiving corps fared over the three-day camp this week, with other news and notes from up and down the 90-man roster.
