San Francisco 49ers TE Vernon Davis has set some loft goals for himself. While speaking to students at Coolidge High School, the Niners tight end told students that he will go down as the best to play the position in NFL history. After his motivational speech, Kevin Jones of WUSA9.com caught up with Davis and asked him to elaborate on his comments.
Davis told the students, “I will be the best tight end ever to play this game. I have a vision.” When asked exactly how he planned to achieve his goal by Jones, Davis explained simply, “Hard work. Having a plan.”
Entering his seventh season, Davis told the television station that he believes he can achieve his goal with Alex Smith under center for the 49ers. “It can, it doesn’t matter. Anything is possible. I say that because…what can happen? If I don’t make it, then I don’t make it. It’s as simple as that. Ain’t nothing nobody can do, ain’t nothing nobody can say. But if I do? Then I spoke it into existence.”
