The Green Bay Packers took care of the Minnesota Vikings during their Wild Card Weekend Matchup, which sends them on the road to face the 49ers on Saturday, January 12th. Kickoff is set for 5:00 pm PST. This is the second meeting this year between the two teams. In the opening week of the season the 49ers beat the Packers in Green Bay 30-22. In that game Aaron Rodgers threw for 303 yards and 2 touchdowns. The 49ers starter Alex Smith threw for 211 and 2 touchdowns. This time however, the Packers will be at the Stick and Alex Smith will be holding the clipboard. The early line on the game is the 49ers at -3, but I expect that line to move throughout the week. Jim Harbaugh mentioned earlier in the week that they were game planning for the Packers as they were expecting them to beat the Vikings, good call on the coaches part. The biggest question going into this week is the health of Justin Smith, he’ll play but at this time we do not know how effective he’ll be. The 49ers must get pre...

Rodgers, Jennings 'fine' after Twitter outburst

When Greg Jennings' sister took to Twitter during last weekend's Packers-Vikings game to mercilessly criticize Green Bay quarterback Aaron Rodgers, Packers fans immediately began to wonder what the rant might do to the NFL MVP's relationship with his two-time Pro Bowl receiver. Apparently, not that much. Jennings was left to explain why his sister called Rodgers the most...

'The Cowboy' saddles up for playoff comeback

The 49ers’ defense is that much more stingy with Justin Smith on the field. Anyone in his own locker room or elsewhere will emphatically say as much. So, perhaps the most important part of San Francisco securing a first-round playoff bye is the chance to get the defensive menace back for its playoff opener.

Report: Packers' next stock sale a ways off

After generating 67 million in revenue during the team's fifth stock sale last year, the Green Bay Packers wont be having another anytime soon.Green Bay Packers president and CEO Mark Murphy told fans in a phone chat Friday that there in fact will be another stock sale, but it won't come for at least 10 to 15 years, according to the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel. The revenue...

Charles Woodson: "our main focus was to keep 28 from getting off"

Charles Woodson isn't talking rocket science, it was simple to him and his defensive teammates, stop Adrian Peterson. In basketball, it's the box and 1, for baseball it's the intentional walk, and in football it's 8 men in the box. Great players demand special attention, and Saturday night the Green Packers defense which had been torched in two regular season games...

Aaron Rodgers dissatisfied with offense’s performance

The Green Bay Packers beat the Minnesota Vikings 24-10 in Saturday’s NFC Wild Card playoff game and never really struggled. Though the Packers won the game easily, quarterback Aaron Rodgers seemed dissatisfied with the team’s offensive performance. “Our defense played at a championship level — which you have to have in the postseason,” Rodgers told NBC Sports’ Michele...

49ers preparing to face Packers in 2nd round

The San Francisco 49ers are preparing for next week's divisional-round playoff game as if they already know their opponent. With a first-round bye and the weekend off, a trio of San Francisco scout teamers wore the jerseys numbers of key Green Bay Packers targets during Friday's practice. They simulated top Green Bay wide receivers Randall Cobb and Jordy Nelson along with...

Notebook: Rodgers’ mobility a Pack advantage

The Packers were able to keep drives alive with a short passing game and Aaron Rodgers extending plays. In the minds of Vikings defenders, that was a major difference-maker.

Green Bay Bar Trolls Adrian Peterson (Photo)

The irony of this, is that it wasn’t like AP needed 80 yards and only got 71 yards. He needed 208 yards and got 199, so it isn’t like the Packers defense did anything to stop him, he just ran out of time. We will see if the Packers can hold AP under 200 as boldly (not really) predicted by Clay Matthews.

Green Bay Packers Overwhelm Joe Webb, Minnesota Vikings

The Green Bay Packers washed the taste of last year's first-round elimination out of their mouths with a convincing win over the Vikings, who were forced to play behind inexperienced back-up QB Joe Webb

Packers vs. Vikings Part 3: The Wildcard

As all the sports world knows, the Green Bay Packers will face the Minnesota Vikings for the second time in six days tomorrow evening on the frozen tundra of Lambeau Field. The Packers won the first game several weeks ago, and the Vikes took the game on Sunday. This game? Well, it will be cold. But as Packer fans we hope that, in the end, the ViQueens feel much colder much longer...
