San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Mario Manningham will undergo an MRI on his left knee after being injured in Sunday's loss to the Seattle Seahawks. The team did not announce when the MRI will take place, but it will likely occur by Wednesday as the team returns to practice for this Sunday's regular season finale and final tuneup for the playoffs against the visiting Phoenix Cardinals. Manningham was tackled by Seattle's Leroy Hill, causing him to fumble the ball and then to leave the game. Manningham was seen leaving the 49ers locker room with a pronounced limp. He's not the only 49er to have medical concerns. Tight end Vernon Davis suffered a concussion in Sunday's game and will spend much of this week going through the NFL's concussion protocol before it's determined whether he can play or not on Sunday. And the status of defensive lineman Justin Smith, who missed Sunday's game with a lingering elbow injury, is uncertain. All San Francisco coach Jim Harbaugh would say about Smith on Monday is, "he has not undergone a procedure" and that "we'll see" if Smith will need surgery either now or after the season. The 49ers are 10-4-1. "I feel our team's leadership, I feel the intellect of the staff, I think the talent of the players, the work ethic of the players will pave the way," Harbaugh said of the injury challenges the team is facing. If the 49ers beat Arizona on Sunday, they will likely win the NFC West title and likely earn a first-round bye. But if they lose and Seattle wins vs. the Rams, Seattle will win the NFC West and San Francisco would have to play a first round game on the road.
