The Chicago Bears started the 2012 season on fire rolling to a 7-1 record.  Since that point, the Monsters of the Midway have lost five of their last six games.  While there have been plenty of places for Bears fans to point their fingers, the biggest issue goes to coaching. The offense and the offensive line has struggled mightily despite having Jay Cutler at quarterback and Brandon Marshall at wide receiver.  Offensive line has been an issue for the Bears going all the way back to the 2007 season.  Not to mention that over his tenure as head coach Lovie's offense has finished no higher than 15th over 9 seasons, with this years offense buried near the bottom of the league statistically.Throughout his time in Chicago, the Bears problems all seem to repeat.  Whether it be a bad offense, or a solid defense that seems to fade into mediocrity after the mid point of the season.  One of Lovie's biggest problems has been beating the Green Bay Packers, particularly recently-- the Be...

Bears Brian Urlacher doesn’t care for fans, media, Lovie Smith detractors, refs

Brian Urlacher had an interesting view of the Chicago Bears loss to the Green Bay Packers yesterday. His view from IR was quite opinionated. Maybe this is the end of his days with the Bears? Or the end of his NFL career? During his weekly appearance on the local Chicago FOX news program he had some choice words for Bears fans, the media and those who think Bears coach Lovie Smith...

Is Lovie Smith on the Hot Seat?

Lovie Smith (Photo credit: Wikipedia) The Chicago Bears came into the 2012 NFL Season with a goal, to once again become Super Bowl Champions. The Bears missed the playoffs last season due to a handful of injuries and a poor offense. They lacked an elite play making WR and a consistent Quarterback. So the Bears made a statement in the past NFL off-season. They went out and snagged...

Lance Briggs: Nobody gets booed more at home than the Chicago Bears

Chicago Bears fans may be fed up with their team, but it sounds like the feeling is mutual. The Bears have tumbled this season since they started out looking like one of the best teams in the NFC. While they could still sneak into the postseason with a wild card berth, it’s looking less likely by the week. Earlier this week, Brian Urlacher ripped Chicago fans for booing the team...

Chicago Bears’ Brian Urlacher Says He Doesn’t Care About the Fans

Ouch. What more is there to say if you’re a fan of the Chicago Bears. Middle linebacker Brian Urlacher has been the face of the franchise for years, and after the team lost to the Green Bay Packers Sunday, he gives the fans a shot to the jaw. “Two of the people I don’t care about: fans or media,” Urlacher said to sports anchor Lou Canellis on WFLD-Ch. 32. Don’t get us wrong...

Bears Toeaina placed on IR

The Chicago Bears lost another player for the year Sunday. Defensive tackle Matt Toeaina, who has suffered from an injury plagued year, was shut down for the year on Monday. In his place, the  Bears elevated offensive tackle Cory Brandon to the 53-man roster from the practice squad. Brandon has spent the last nine weeks of the season on the Bears [...]

Daughter cashed dead dad's pension

The daughter of a former Chicago Bears player from the 1950s is accused of illegally collecting money from an NFL pension plan years after her father's death. Constance Helwig-Langlois was charged Wednesday with fraud in Detroit. She's the daughter of John Helwig, who played defense for the Bears. Federal prosecutors say the NFL retirement plan kept sending checks to John...

The Chicago Bears placed running back Michael Bush on season-ending injured reserve with injured ribs and re-signed Kahlil Bell. Bush finishes his first season in Chicago with 411 rushing yards and five touchdowns on 114 carries. Bell has spent parts of four seasons with the Bears from 2009-12, starting three of 25 games and rushing for 589 yards on 131 career carries.

Final Thoughts: Despite Poor Offensive Performance, Bears Let One Slip Away Yet Again

A referee throws a flag on Chicago Bears wide receiver Alshon Jeffery (17) after a pass in the end zone in the third quarter against the Green Bay Packers at Soldier Field in Chicago on Sunday, December 16, 2012. Bears injury list grows shorter

Relegated to winning their final two games and hoping for some help, the Chicago Bears finally received a bit of good news when they hit the Halas Hall practice fields for a light workout in preparation for Sunday’s road trip to Arizona. The lengthy injury list has been pared, Only two Bears, MLB Brian Urlacher and OT Jonathan Scott missed practice. A number [...]

Five Players to Watch: Week 16

After starting the season 7-1, the Chicago Bears have been in a free fall, winning just one game in their last six. The offense has continued to sputter while, not as dominate as it was earlier in the season, the defense continues to put the team in a position to win. With just two games left, the Bears will likely need to win out and have some help along the way if they want to...

Cardinals Will Provide Bears With a Tough Test

Back and forth on how I would have predicted the Bears to match up with the Cardinals this season.  At first I saw the Cardinals as a stiff test on the road, this after they started the season 4-0.  Then the Cardinals went on a long losing streak while the Bears stood at 7-3 on the season.  Now the Bears have lost five of their last six games and while the Cardinals have lost...
