BirdsFan.com - A Philadelphia Eagles...:
The Eagles will be back in the national spotlight again this week as they host the Bears on Monday Night Football. They played well under the bright lights last week and will look to pull their record back up to the .500 mark.
The Bears are coming off a bye week so they’re well rested. However, Lovie Smith doesn’t have the same kind of post bye week track record as Andy Reid.
As the Eagles look to continue their attempt to right the ship, here are five keys I believe are important for the Eagles to come out on top.
1. Limit Matt Forte
I think one of the stats that keeps getting overlooked from the win against Dallas is the numbers DeMarco Murray put up. He only ran the ball eight times, but he gained 74 yards on those eight carries.
Murray was a rookie who came in with one good game under his belt. Matt Forte is much more established. In his last four games, Forte is averaging just over 22 carries for about 138 yards per contest.

Chicago Bears running back Matt Forte is doing his best to keep his mind on business.
With contract talks at a standstill and the potential of the team placing the franchise tag on him, Forte is trying to just focus on football.
"I know I'm loyal to my teammates and my team are my guys, but it doesn't seem like the organization is to me," Forte said. "But...
Running back Matt Forte, who is on pace to break team records, isn’t feeling the love from the Bears. And he’s starting to wonder if his durability is being taken for granted. ‘‘The running back position is the most physically demanding on the field,’’ Forte said Tuesday. ‘‘Everyone...

Star running back Matt Forte doesn’t feel the love between himself and the Chicago Bears organization at the moment. The reason being that the team is planning on applying the franchise tag on the back. Even worse the team can apply that tag two years in a row and keep him locked up through 2013.
“I know I’m loyal to my teammates and my team are my guys, but it doesn’t...
....except the Bears, apparently.
Steve Rosenbloom: Fans who want the Bears to fork over $40 million or $50 million to Matt Forte are nuts, and here's why: They don't have to, and won't have to for several years.
Matt Forte is the heart of the Bears' offense, but with the team unwilling to work out a long-term extension, he says he's playing for a front office that doesn't match the loyalty of its players.
The Bears will have to contend with the Eagles' top-ranked rushing attack led by LeSean McCoy (above) and quarterback Michael Vick.
Here is a look at hypothetical propositional wagers between the Bears and Eagles.
First team to score
Eagles. The Eagles have a potent offense — ranked No. 1 in the league — and have finally started to come together after a 1-4 start to their...
This week, the Eagles will face the Bears on Monday Night Football. Two prime time games in a row! YAY, but also some of us have DAY JOBS y'all!I have to admit, in the McNabb era, I tended to worry about night games. If you've been reading this blog for any amount of time, you know I have always been a huge Big5 fan. But DMac was often not as his best in the prime time games...
