Randy Moss decided to hang it up on Monday, releasing a statement that at the age of 34 he’s about done with football. A lot can be insinuated from this statement given that, just a few weeks prior, reports had come out that Moss was in the best shape of his life. As free agency unfolded, teams like the Jets went for a guy who had been in prison for two years instead of Moss. The Eagles opted to throw money everywhere but their wide receiving corps. The Giants, even after possibly losing wide receiver Steve Smith, never came calling. The Patriots opted for Chad Ochocinco. The Chargers decided they’d settle with Patrick Crayton and rookie Vincent Brown. The contending teams in the NFL didn’t want Moss. So much for getting a ring?
