Now that I have filed the last of the Gameday preview stories for Sunday’s section. Here are 10 thoughts, questions and other assorted ramblings going into the game …
Have the Bengals completely washed off the failure of last week’s loss in Foxborough? If we turn back the clocks to one year ago they were in a similar spot — winless and a difficult Week 2 opponent. They seemed to bounce back pretty well last year.
Can the offense move the ball in conventional formations? They struggled last week for the most part. On the first play they would get 10-12 yard gains for first downs but then the drive would stall by not converting on third and shorts. In some respects it almost looked like last year. The no huddle has been extremely effective, albeit in the preseason and when they have been trailing 31-3, but hopefully it doesn’t become the only way they can move the ball.
Speaking of the offense, can they maintain balance? Cedric Benson was not that involv...
