Aaron Brooks a bust?

Here's an article I penned a few weeks ago about the bust potential of Aaron Brooks in the Raiders offense. He did have a decent game last week, but the Lions defense can make anyone look good. With Andrew Walter hurting and Jeff George just signed, you have to wonder how long it will be until Randy Moss explodes for not getting the ball enough.

Good piece, but Brooks seemed to turn the corner in his last preseason game hooking up with Moss. I think he's got the arm to get it to Randy he just needed to get used to being in the new offense. He has been in New Orleans for a long time. I'm neutral on whether Brooks is a bust at this point, if people start thinking bust, he will become a sleeper in most fantasy drafts to he had in later rounds.

Of course he's a bust...they have Jeff George now! It's only a matter of time before Jeff George goes MVP in Oakland baby. HAHA! Raider Nation is so lame once again,

Hard to think he is not a bust, I doubt that they wanted George for security as a second or third QB. I agree he needs time to learn the offense, but there were a couple years there where the saints could have been really good, but they never had the intensity or always fell apart toward the end of the season. you have to think that it might be related to brooks as a signal caller.

I am still speechless concerning the acquisition of Jeff George, but I think Brooks' poor performance in the preseason has been blown out of proportion. Let’s look around the rest of the league, where All-Pro and new contract boy Edgerrin James has a total of like 3 yards rushing for the Arizona Cardinals, and T.O. hasn’t even played in a game yet. Give Brooks some time in the season; unfortunately, I don’t think that will make anything better.

Nice piece -- thanks for the advice. I'm drafting in a league today with a bunch of suckers who will probably be high on Brooks because he's got LaMont and Moss in the same uni, and I say they're high on crack if they draft this buster.

Brooks had a ton of talen with Duece and Horn and he still failed to make them a consistent team. Why should anything change with the change of uniform? The bigger problem to worry about with the Raiders may be their offensive coordinator. Tom Walsh hasnt coached at any level since 1999 and when he was coaching, he wasnt successful. One of his last jobs was operating a bed and breakfast. Yeah, I can see how that would make you a solid NFL coach. Its perfectly obvious! http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=2341992

I'd take a flyer on Brooks if he dropped into the double-digit rounds. He'd make an excellent QBBC option.

Lion00, I think you're probably right, and he'll probably rack up the stats in garbage time when the Raiders are losing big. One nice thing about having a horrible defense is that he'll need to air it out quite a bit.
