Yardbarker has rounded up four of this year's NFL rookies to blog about their rookie seasons. "Rookie Roundup" has offense, defense, two first-round selections, and two top-10 picks: Oakland Raiders RB Darren McFadden, Cincinnati Bengals LB Keith Rivers, Tennessee Titans WR Lavelle Hawkins, and Jacksonville Jaguars LB Thomas Williams. Darren, Keith, Lavelle and Thomas will post stories, photos and video throughout the season, giving the Yard an inside look at what it's really like to be a rookie in the NFL. Content will be updated regularly (weekly, sometimes daily) so be sure to visit often. These guys will continue to publish regularly on their blog pages (i.e. profile pages); however, you can now also visit the link associated with this article (http://www.yardbarker.com/group/column/1) to check out all of their posts in one place. Add the "RookieRoundup" profile as a favorite (or add the players individually). The Yard is excited to be a part of Darren's, Keith's, Lavelle's and T-Will's rookie seasons. - Dewey PS: Don't be entirely surprised if we add at least one more rookie to the mix. No promises, though, so don't hold me to it... see you 'round the Yard.

  • This ought to be pretty cool, but Keith Rivers needs to get signed and into camp so he can have something to blog about.
  • deff Oakland Raiders there they are again they are goign ot be amazing this year
  • good facts brouse310 lol
  • ty phillyfan05
  • Hmmm...another rookie. Who do we want?

Not to be picky, but if i had to choose one thats not already in the Yard...
Jerod Mayo, but that might be a little biased. Other than him, I'd want James Hardy or Malcom Kelly.

  • Mayo!, and it's early: whatev's!, has it all, WhiteJordan!...best LB in draft!, as this season plays out, I just know he will be...and Pierre looks way improved, and digging Crable, as all 3 have picked up BB D schemes well...not worried about LB's anymore-yup, after one meaningless game!, unless something happens...now, it's just the CBs to be concerned with and backup QB...It's NE's time real soon, for fans to fully emerge from the ruins of last year...NE LB's will be younger, faster, and taking care of business! as it get's more "heavy" in season, "heavy" meaning NE knows all scenarios as seasons evolve!...yeah, a little biased too, fellow NE Fan, get him on here, as he is intelligent obviously...and I'll eat the friggin fattest crow if I'm wrong about NE 08' LBs
  • DE-SEAN JACKSON i will start the chant lmao.....but serioulsy i would like to have him as the next rookie

p.s. if you didnt want to make any promises you shouldnt have mentioned it.

My NFL Dream Has Started...

I had my first individual team workout yesterday with the New England Patriots. They came in and visited with me at USC and worked me out. Even though it was my first workout and it was the Patriots I wasn't nervous at all. I was just excited. I mean I got to work out for an NFL team and that's part of the dream. They had me do 8-10 drills to see how my hips turn, how I catch...

Saying goodbye to USC

I want to say to my teammates who are entering the Draft and who I have played with over the past four or five years, I've enjoyed every second of it. Whatever team that they go to, the fans and the teammates are going to enjoy these guys just as much as I did. I enjoyed every memory that we had, every championship that we won, and every game that we played. I hope I get a chance...

Name the Bengals Top 10 Career Sack Leaders

In the spirit of Keith Rivers officially signing with the Bengals (and because tackle statistics have not been historically kept by the NFL), see how many of the Bengals career sack leaders you can name in 5 minutes. Even though he an LB, I bet that Rivers ends up on this list before his career is over. Note: Last names accepted as responses.

Reggie Bush, talking trash

We've got the Saints at home this weekend so it'll be a chance to play against Cedric and Reggie. It'll be fun to see those guys. I saw Reggie this summer, we worked out a little bit and he started talking trash, the typical who's going to do what and who's stopping who trash talk. It's all good-natured. I spoke to Thomas Williams (my road dawg from USC) the...

Bengals LB Keith Rivers Expects To Make An Impact In '09

Bengals LB Keith Rivers is excited about the 2009 campaign and expects to make a bigger impact in the Bengals' defense. Rivers said, "I was...

Our last, and final, top 100 for this NFL draft. We have Darren McFadden at number four, as well as Keith Rivers coming in at number nine. Comments on the blog and on YB are definitely appreciated. Good luck with your favorite team(s) going into the draft. Our last mock will come out tomorrow night.

Ken Norton, Jr... my coach and mentor

Ken Norton, Jr. has been both a coach and a mentor to me and my road dawg, Thomas Williams. We owe all of our success to him. He's taught us everything we know, and he's been there for us as a surrogate father since we're in college away from home, through the good times and the bad times. Thanks, Ken. Keith

Working hard at Pro Day

Thanks everyone for your comments and positive messages. If you haven't seen it already on T-Will's blog, check out this video from the day after Pro Day at USC. Me and Thomas Williams recap a hard day's work.

I hope you have a good cell-phone plan, Keith

Keith Rivers: "I brought my charger with me because I knew the phone would be blowing up. It has been buzzing non stop. I have gotten 90 text messages and I don't know how many calls." Cincy coaches and players, USC guys, friends and family, Reggie Bush and Matt Leinart; everyone is excited for Keith to be a Bengal. Except the rest of the AFC North. - Dewey

Zach Thomas Visiting Pats - Belichick's Love Affair with Old Linebackers Continues

What is it with Belichick and old middle linebackers? We're supposed to get younger, not older and more fragile! My quick thoughts if this was to happen is that it might not be a good fit and that I'd much prefer Jason Taylor join us to play OLB. Thomas has always played 4-3, he's coming off a year where he only played in 5 games and, oh yeah -- he's 34! Come...

Flacco Drops Back to Pass

Well it didn't take long for Joe Flacco to take the reigns of the Ravens quarterback position, at least according to the techies at EA Sports. With Leather has screen shots from Madden '09 of many of the top draft picks from this weekend's draft. Among the photos is a shot of Flacco calmly dropping back to pass at M&T Bank Stadium and perhaps a sign of things to come...

Thursday Reads: Rivers Still Absent

See? I told you: I step out for a minute and stuff starts to happen. With Sedrick Ellis marching in, the biggest thing standing between the Bengals and first-round pick?Keith Rivers is DE Derrick Harvey. Unfortunately, it looks like the Jaguars are digging in their heels. Asked if Ellis' deal would help to expedite talks with [...]

For Trojans, dollars will show sense of returning to school

There were many reasons to be glad at USC’s Pro Day on Wednesday. Football coach Pete Carroll didn’t take long to come up with 50 million, maybe 60 million, of them for Sedrick Ellis, Keith Rivers and Fred Davis, who all chose to come back and play at USC their senior years. “Probab...
