Arlen Specter Is Bored

The Sports Muffin rant goes to Washington:

Apparently Arlen Specter has nothing to do as a senator of the United States. Today he called for an independent investigation of the "Spygate" scandal. Now I hate the Patriots as much as the next guy, but COME ON ARLEN!!! Do you really have nothing better to do? I somewhat understand the government going after steroids in baseball as drug use in major league sports has had a negative influence on our youth. I'd hardly put "spygate" in the same category as performance enhancing drugs. Arlen, if I see your face on ESPN.com one more time I'm gonna headbutt the wall Gus Frerotte style and start shouting obscenities. Get back to doing the job you were elected to do.

i agree & this spygate stuff is beginning to get a bit boring......leave it go, let whomever do what they have to do & move on!!!!! Great write up!!!

I'm about as sick of this as steroids.

Give it up, Sphincter!!!

Not sure what is worse, your rant or your fantasy team. Nice Gus Frerotte reference though.

what happened to goth butters?

You don't think the Pats got off way too easy? I think the NFL really dropped the ball here, and destroying the evidence doesn't help. I'd rather that our Senators spent their time on more important issues, but if the NFL can't get it right, I don't mind some oversight.

they got the best punishment of all from the NY Giants, they were cheatin, alot of teams were doin the same thing, what else u gonna do....keep fining them?

We're a lot of teams doing the same thing? The only team I heard that was involved was the Patriots, and I think they got off way too easy.

well according to NFL on FOX guys Jimmy Johnson, Howie etc. they said its practiced by many teams.....i agree they got off too easy, but what else coulsd they have done

Do you really think the Patriots are the only team that steal signals? Goodell said himself that they all do it. Teams just have to come up with ways to keep them from getting stolen.

The Pats were the only team that was implicated. And it turns out they have been doing it since 2000, knowing that it was wrong.

Do you have a link on the Goodell statement that they all steal signals? I hadn't heard that.

I think I heard something to that affect in his press conference yesterday or the interview afterward. Someone interviewed him on ESPN and that bit of information was mentioned in there. Do you not think it happens? If you don't, then you may be a little naive. No offense, but a team will use any means to get an edge. Now, the Pats could have done it without using the video, I'm sure. They were just dumb enough to do it in the open.

I've said it once and I'll say it again: If Congress forms another committee to deal with this, I'm going to stop paying taxes. I mean it.

THIS IS AN INTERNAL LEAGUE ISSUE. THIS HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH SENATORS FROM PENNSYLVANIA.

Maybe he's going to run for President in 2012.

spector even thinks they might have been stealing offensive signals! but he is to dumb to know that there isn't such a thing as offensive signals! what a pin head! abuse your power much?!?!

He is offensive!!! That's the signal he is sending.
