According to ProFootballTalk.com, Asante Samuel has agreed to a deal with the New Orleans Saints. The Saints and Samuel have reportedly verbally agreed to a deal that would pay Samuel the 10 million dollars plus per year that he wants. The former Patriot, who the Eagles have been rumored to be interested in, can't officially sign a contract with the Saints until free agency begins in a few days, so nothing is set in stone.

It's possible that AS's stock dropped a little after the SB. My prediction is that interested teams are keeping an ear to what other teams are going to offer first.I don't think he's going to get as much as he wants. And if he ends up in Philly-say goodbye to Lito.
I don't think he's a done deal anywhere by Friday.

no hes not kevin1...theres 1 CB in this league I would have no problem paying 12 million/year to..CHAMP. The only reason Asante will be making that much is because the niners are dumbasses and gave clements so damn much. our money can be better spent elsewhere

  • OK so on Saints radio today around 6ish the Executive Vice President/General Manager Mickey Loomis said on the show that they have never ever spoken to Samuel or any1 related with him. They have no idea why that rumor is going around. So either they are just keeping it under raps or all you Eagle fans can get ya hopes up again or stop dissing him. Hes the best CB in the League for the past 2 years. Only reason why he gets to ask for so much is cuz the 49ers are dumb and gave an overrated CB too much money and he did crap for them. He did crap for Buffalo too. So there ya go
