LAKE FOREST, Ill. -- Stumbled across the final packet from last season's Bears loss in the Georgia. Wish I hadn't. Most of us have already spent time discussing the final 11 seconds of that game. •Kyle Orton connects with Rashied Davis on a 17-yard touchdown pass (Bears 20 Atlanta 19; 11 seconds left) •Robbie Gould boots a squib kick that goes only 36 yards to the Falcons' 34. Kick is returned by Harry Douglas to the Falcons' 44 (six seconds left). •Matt Ryan to Michael Jenkins for 26 yards. Jenkins pushed out of the bounds at the Bears' 30 (one second left). •Jason Elam kicks a 48-yard field goal as time expires (Atlanta 22 Bears 20). Heading into that meeting last year, the Bears spent a good chunk of time preparing to stop Falcons runner Michael Turner. Lance Briggs even joked that ex-Bears linebackers coach Lloyd Lee was calling Turner "the modern day Jim Brown." Ironically, the defense did an excellent job stopping ...

Orton leads Broncos over Patriots in Overtime 20-17

The Denver Broncos defense shut out the New England Patriots in the second half, Kyle Orton was spectacular, and Josh McDaniels out-coached his mentor Bill Belichick as the Broncos beat the Patriots 20-17 in overtime! What a game. Talk about your 5-0 Broncos here!!

Orton vs. Cutler, Round 2

In light of Kyle Orton’s 35-for-48 performance and 330 passing yards along with 2 touchdowns on Sunday against the Patriots, it seems only fitting to reiterate some of the points I made last week. Most of you got that I was merely pointing out how well Orton has played this season, while a couple others took it as a slap in Jay Cutler’s face. Cutler’s better, but Orton is playing...

AFTERNOON SPORTS CLUB Bears 1st & 10: Good for Kyle Orton in Denver!

With a bye week and then some to to think about things, our resident Bears analyst Mark Potash offers 10 observations:

McDaniels relishes victory over Patriots

DENVER | Kyle Orton is no John Elway, Josh McDaniels is no Bill Belichick and those mustard-yellow uniforms certainly don't have anyone thinking "Orange Crush." But on a day that had as much to do with Denver's colorful history as its promising present, anything seemed possible. Orton led a drive that might ring a bell for Broncos fans - 98 yards in the fourth quarter...

Would Bears be better off with Orton, Benson?

The Broncos' Kyle Orton and the Bengals' Cedric Benson have solidified their statuses as blossoming stars on their respective teams and top players in the league. But you won't hear a lot of people lamenting that those guys are no longer in Chicago.

LIVE: Broncos get real test against the Patriots

We'll find out today when Kyle Orton, Josh McDaniels and the rest of the Broncos take on Bill Belichick, Tom Brady and the Pats (LIVE).

What, Bears worry?

The Denver Broncos' Kyle Orton and the Cincinnati Bengals' Cedric Benson enjoyed the Bears' bye weekend more than anybody who jumped a flight to Las Vegas, returned to his old school to take in some college football or simply spent the weekend lying around the house eating takeout food.

All hail the Horseshoe

As the only site in America that didn?t rip the Broncos for dumping Jay Cutler in favor of the Horseshoe, we take a certain amount of gridiron glee in Denver?s 5-0 start and in its gut-check overtime victory against the Patriots. Kyle Orton rewarded our faith, and Josh McDaniels’ faith, with a career performance. ....

Supporting the Drive for Life

More than two dozen Broncos players, alumni and cheerleaders headed to INVESCO Field at Mile High for the 12th annual Drive for Life on Tuesday. Some, like Kyle Orton, donated even more than their time.
