The Jets have started a new program on their website called “Barking with Bart” and will be a weekly feature on Jets TV, the internet video channel of the Jets site. “The subject of the show is to not just talk about football but to talk about the events going on in society and also to give back,” Scott said. “I’m excited that all the proceeds from this show will be given out to charity. We have an exciting format where people can submit their causes and we’ll see if we can support that.” Scott, whose foundation is named A Son Never Forgets, will make small-impact grants courtesy of the program to worthy charities. The team has set up an email address - scottcharity@newyorkjets.com – for viewers to submit charities for consideration. All charitable requests must include the following information: a 501(c)3 Tax ID Number, a sampling of programs and a statement of what one would do with a small grant from Bart Scott. Bart will pick his first winner on air next week. … Encouraging fan...

Jets LB Scott already calculating playoffs

New York Jets linebacker Bart Scott isn't afraid to drop the "P" word. Scott, with an economics degree from Southern Illinois, is almost as comfortable with numbers as he is with verbs. He figures the winner of Sunday's showdown between the Jets and New Orleans Saints in the Superdome probably is headed to the playoffs. ESPN

New York Jets LB Bart Scott, 10.1 On the game against the Saints… Whichever team comes out 4-0 is going to really set themselves up. Whenever you go perfect in the first quarter of the season, that’s a tremendous start on trying to make it to the playoffs. We’re going to try to give it our best effort. We have a tough road ahead. If we can go up 4-0 winning two games on the...

Why the Jets are 3-0 this year

This is a team that nobody expected this type of start from. Nobody except the coaches, players and myself. I am a firm believer in "you play to win the game" and so when I saw the offseason moves that were made, I thought we could have a great year. This is a team of talented younger veteran players. Bart Scott and David Harris may be the best tandem of linebackers in the league...

Ryan's tweet to Clowney: Sit down

Rex Ryan admits he isn't up to speed on the Twitter craze sweeping the globe."That Twitter deal," he said yesterday. "I don't even know what Twitter is."But that didn't stop the Jets ' first-year coach from bringing down the hammer on wide receiver David Clowney last week for something he posted on his Twitter account. It didn't really seem like much, especially compared...

Memory loss

Everyone remembers what happened the last time the Ravens played the New England Patriots. Near the end of the game, linebacker Bart Scott lost his cool and threw a flag into the stands. Cornerback Samari Rolle had a confrontation with an official after he claimed he was called "boy." It wasn't one of the Ravens' proudest moments. Asked about the Ravens losing...

New Orleans Columnist Pulls A Buzz Bissinger

In an attempt to rile up Saints fans and find an angle on a column for a game that needs no angle, Times-Picayune columnist Chris Rose has taken offense with everything New York. There’s a lot to break down here, so I’ll take it one by one. First, the “prognosticators”. You could see it coming a mile away: Now that the Saints are 3-0, the cocksure prognosticators...
