The Bears added another win this week with a 25-19 victory over the embattled Seahawks. Seattle was without the help of seven starters including Matt Hasselbeck, but Seneca Wallace looked fairly impressive in his absence. The Bears added to their own injuries woes when Hunter Hillenmeyer had to leave with an injury to his ribs. No updates on him yet but I wouldn't be surprised if the team gave Derrick Brooks a call in the next week or two. Cutler looked in control again and posted some decent numbers. With columnists singing his praises, you can barely smell the torches that they were using to run him out of town a scant two weeks ago. Unfortunately the Bears have yet to establish the run. Hopefully they can get things going against the recently victorious Lions this week. Once again the Bears proved that they are kryptonite for kickers when Seattle's Olindo Mare missed two field goals in a game they lost by only six points. After missing only three kicks all of last year, no less....

Which Star College Quarterback Should Land with Seattle? (Part Two of Series)

Matt Hasselbeck’s fractured rib means more than missed playing time and the two losses that have taken place since he was forced out of Seattle’s Week Two loss to the San Francisco 49ers. The injury to the team’s aging and oft-injured gun slinger means that it really is time Seattle starts looking for the right collegiate [...]

Mora: Don't expect Hasselbeck to play Sunday

RENTON, Wash. (AP) -- The Seahawks are planning to be without quarterback Matt Hasselbeck and best blocker Walter Jones again on Sunday.

Linebackers banged up

Linebackers Lance Briggs (toe), Pisa Tinoisamoa (sprained knee) and Hunter Hillenmeyer (ribs) all sat out Wednesday’s practice, along with defensive end Alex Brown (sprained ankle). Running back Matt Forte (knee), defensive tackle Tommie Harris (knee), Defensive lineman Israel Idonije (knee) tight end Desmond Clark (fractured rib), long-snapper Patrick Mannelly (arm), and defensive...

The Seattle Seahawks will likely play the Indianapolis Colts on Sunday without quarterback Matt Hasselbeck and left tackle Walter Jones.

Houshmandiva

After months of hearing people talk about TJ Houshmandzadeh, I consistently made the argument that they were making a mountain out of a molehill. Sure, he talks a bit of trash, but that's just "swagger," that's healthy for the team. Yeah, I want my stud wide-out to predict a pro-bowl, a playoff run, top five numbers. I like that, it's good for the team and its...

Zorn, offense coming up empty

DETROIT Dan Snyder originally hired Jim Zorn as Washington's offensive coordinator in January 2008. Zorn became the Redskins' head coach the next month more by attrition than by the owner's design as other candidates pulled out of the running. Zorn had never called a play as an NFL assistant. But he had been a good NFL quarterback and had helped develop Matt Hasselbeck...

Chicago-Seattle: Bears Quiet Qwest Field

Winning in Qwest Field is no easy feat—especially with the lime green uniforms—but the Bears pull it off against the scrappy Seahawks. The once-deep line backing corps of the Bears is looking a little thin now after Hunter Hillenmeyer was taken out of the game with sore ribs. Not only were the Seahawks able to run on the Bears defense, they were able to make completions...

Fantasy Football Week 4 Notes: Browns, Seahawks, Redskins

Cleveland will go with Derek Anderson this week against Cincinnati. Normally he’d make a decent fantasy play, but the Bengals D has actually been solid this year. Braylon Edwards will have his hands full with CB Leon Hall. It appears that Matt Hasselbeck (ribs) will miss this week’s game against Indianapolis. The Colts have [...]
