TEAMS: Oakland Raiders, Kansas City Chiefs, Denver Broncos
The Fan-Sided bloggers in the AFC West decided to make some observations and overall assumptions regarding how other teams in our little group will fare this season.
This is a marginal division, and while I give each team respect… I will also give them some realism.
Oakland Raiders: JaMarcus Russell could be the 'guy'. Darren McFadden is a rookie, which history tells us he won't have immediate success in the league. Could it be different this season? Let's just say I am not on the edge of my seat. I have an inkling that the Raiders will turn some heads. It's a great formula. Two younger guys at prime positions. The Raiders can absolutely make some great strides this season.
Expect a season that will be better than last season, but that is not saying much. Flash and flare in the first few games. When the season plays out the Raiders will make an effort but ultimately fall short. Regardless, they won't be the worst in the division.
Kansas City Chiefs: Dwayne Bowe is promising. I'm sorry, but I refuse to remember the name of a Chiefs quarterback at this point. It's kind of like getting to know a new bartender at a really, really bad bar. They might be good, but the joint is so bad, it will break their spirit soon enough. That being said, Chiefs have nothing to look forward too. You hear me, Larry Johnson, nothing.
I will say that the Chiefs had a dynamite draft. Plenty of picks to fill a lot of holes. I don't see these moves coming to fruition this season.
Denver Broncos: Good running back or two guaranteed. Other than that, don't expect much. Rod Smith retired. I know this comes as a shock to many of a football fan who thought Smith retired many years ago.
Jay Cutler is the guy in Denver. For now. I give the him this year and next to prove his game. At this point, there are no wide out options for him to get big numbers. Word to Cutler: try to stay on your feet and wait for a team to get built around you.

Larry Johnson Wants To “Break Ties†With Chiefs
(After what he did today, L.J. will no longer be seen in a Chiefs jersey in any new post on this site. Period. That's a promise. - Adam)
Well, gang, Larry Johnson still wants out of Kansas City despite newly hired GM Scott Pioli. Larry Johnson went into depth about how ...
Larry Johnson is quite the gentleman
Chiefs back Larry Johnson is in trouble for (allegedly) spitting his drink on a girl in a nightclub. This is the 4th time that Johnson has had run ins with ladies. Last month Larry Johnson was charged with simple assault (whatever that is) for pushing the side of a woman's face. I am not trying to defend the man but how is that a crime? Troy, I think the world is becoming pansy not...
NFLN Larry Johnson Fantasy Breakdown Video
Some pretty interesting stuff on not only Larry Johnson, but the caliber of rushing defense the Chiefs will face in 2008. I smell a resurgence. For Iron Man at least.

Larry Johnson Rolls Like a Green Beret Lesbian Trucker
Larry Johnson hit PURE in Vegas this weekend and?this outfit just leaves me breathless.? Not only is Larry ready for a commando raid should one break out, but he also has plenty of room in his hat in case his cranium should start spontaneously expanding.? That?s thinking ahead Larry!? But the ...

AADQ: Edge-For-L.J. Trade?

Coco Crisp: Static Age
by Lucas Pearson
On days when there's a ballgame, two fields occupy Fenway Park. There is the familiar green grass, stable and stationary, with its odd dimensions and the mowed patterns that reflect the whims of head groundskeeper David Mellor. The other field is known to only one person, and it is sensed, rather than seen. Millions of invisible tendrils of energy, all interconnected...
TOP 10 THINGS WE LEARNED FROM THE NFL ON SUNDAY
by DMtShooter, Five Tool Tool10. According to a very helpful caption, Frank Caliendo's occupation is "comedian", and not "societal experiment to determine how long a man can be annoying and unfunny in public before being killed"9. According to Phil Simms, Eagles punter Sav Rocca was the most valuable player on the team yesterday, rather than someone from the defense that had 9 sacks...
Let's Not Forget...
While we're in the middle of celebrating Larry Johnson's 4 TD performance against Seattle on Sunday, while the media is goes down on Larry Johnson (after giving a courtesy reach-around to Peyton, of course), let's not forget that Larry Johnson is a twice-arrested domestic abuser.

No-fun league strikes again?
SpyGate. Performance-enhancing drugs. Violent fights at strip clubs in Vegas. Spousal abuse. Domestic violence. Concussive head injuries.

Steelers exclude RB Willie Parker from passing attack
Willie Parker...0 receptions in 2008. Steelers are last in the NFL in RB receptions with 2 total catches. The Saints lead the NFL with 35 RB receptions (Bush has 26 by himself). This stat DOES matter.
Last year Parker had 23 receptions while LT had 60 catches, Frank Gore had 53, Larry Johnson had 30 catches in 8 games, Willis McGahee had 43, Earnest Graham had 49 in limited action...

A.A.D.Q: Players Of The Game?
My players of the game were Dantrell Savage and Turk McBride. There were others that also played well, though. Brandon Flowers. Larry Johnson. Maurice Price. It's a tough call. Especially when the variables--like playing time and competition faced--were uneven. I'm sticking with my two choices.
