Dawg Pound Daily:
The rumors and speculation around the Browns have been flying at full speed in the last few weeks. Trade rumors for Derek Anderson, Brady Quinn, Shaun Rogers, Braylon Edwards, etc. have been abundant as teams like the Giants, Eagles, and others have been linked in apparent deals that would send pretty much every good player out of Cleveland for garbage. For some reason (the slow news that permeates this time of the NFL year is probably a good one), Tony Grossi feels the need to speculate on a whole bunch of nothing.
Grossi writes that QB Brett Favre and head coach Eric Mangini have been exchanging text messages lately (”OMG, howz the elbow, Brett, LOL!! <3 Mangenius”). The idea is that Mangini could be gauging Favre’s interest in coming to the Browns’ camp during the summer. This, of course, would be a massive mistake and is nothing more than grasping at straws. After all, there is already a two-man QB competition ensuing between Anderson and Quinn. Don’t even get me started on that.
What do you think? Is a QB competition between Anderson and Quinn going to end up benefitting the Browns in the long run? And how much does the idea of Brett Favre in a Browns uniform make you want to crap your pants in uncontrollable anxiety?

Yep. He’ll fit right inWith an extra day in the month of February, Browns GM Phil Savage has wasted no time making a splash. I mentioned yesterday that the team had significant cap space, and that I hoped that the abundance of space would not be wasted on a long-term Derek Anderson deal.Â

Eagles Rumors: Braylon Edwards in the WR mix?
Well, so far this year is shaping up like last year, with the Eagles being linked to every possible elite WR and thus far with absolutely nothing to show for it. The most recent rumor, arising from the owners meetings, is that the Eagles are interested in trading for the Browns WR Braylon Edwards, and the Browns, having already traded Kellen Winslow and likely lost Dante Stallworth...

I received a text message yesterday evening that claimed Shaun Rogers was seen in a video of yesterday’s voluntary Browns camp. Sure enough, it didn’t take long for the news to hit the headlines as our Pro-Bowl nose tackle did in fact arrive to yesterday’s session, apparently having patched things up with head coach Eric Mangini.
