If this article were to be a prediction of Mark Brunell's Redskin future, I would need one more sentence to wrap this one up. Brunell peacefully sealed his fate a year ago when he agreed to a restructuring of contract that voids out for good on March 1st, 2008. Brunell's options are to go somewhere else and back up a young quarterback, or to call it a career.

The Redskins will likely be forced to try to sign a player who has considerable skill, but isn't particularly wanted by other NFL teams. The Redskins signed Keenan McCardell and Reche Caldwell in the middle of the season, and both these guys fit the bill. Neither one picked the Redskins as their first choice.

Maybe nothing can convince Gregg Williams that head coach of the Washington Redskins is not the job for him. Perhaps being among the last interviewees, and having his name whispered in media reports while names like Pete Carroll and Bill Cowher were being shouted from the rooftops isn't enough to convince him of which way the organization is looking, and it isn't within.

Jason Campbell simply needs more game reps to become an elite quarterback. The Redskins likely realize that the ball goes down the field far quicker when they throw it, and that they just have to find a way to limit Campbell's turnovers, especially while protecting the football in the pocket. As Campbell cuts down on the mistakes, he will receive a higher percentage of the playcalls.
