Two days before the start of free agency, and already with the 2nd most amount of cap money, the Bucs released 5 staples of our old regime. Reports from all the major sporting outlets are saying the Bucs have released Derrick Brooks, Joey Galloway, Ike Hilliard, Warrick Dunn and Cato June. I was expecting a few of these guys to be released ... Getty Images

I'mma ask you cause you seem like a genuine Eagles fan would you guys take Derrick Brooks if the opportunity came along?
      • ItsWhatever
No, he's lost a step, would demand more then were willing to pay him, and would NOT be an improvement over anything we have. Good leadership, but... no.

I think linebacker core needs a leader. The players are improving but an athlete like Brooks cant hurt.

I cant believe warrick and derrick were released ok I saw Joey and Ike but them and Cato?
    • ItsWhatever
Cato June was released 2? huh.
      • eagles4ever05
Yea ok derrick dunn ok they old but Cato is fairly young

i heard, this made them 60 million under the cap....... are they going to make a huge splash in free agency ????

    They could use the upgrades
  • SMH12289
Bucs really have no leadership on that team now...NFC's Raiders anyone????
  • Zukny1
umm they had leaders.. sounds like the new guy either is brilliant or an idiot lol

Rahiem Morris is basically saying that Buccaneers are "REBUILDING" so they are getting rid of the Old Guys,Cato June has been in the league what 6yrs?? But Dunn,Galloway,Hilliard and whoever else that is on the block to make way for the younger guys, now I know a youth movement is needed at some point but you can't replace the Experience that guys like Brooks and them bring to the table...Tampa Bay has taking some majors back in the wrong direction..

      still have Ronde Barber

Well, they certainly have housecleaning in mind. First Chuckie, now some veteran players. Who's next?
  • eagleman94
no leadership ..garcia, barber, clayton, carnell, bryant ... mostly veterans. still got a ton of playmakers. half of those players wont do **** anywhere else.. good improvment by the bucs
    • keep in mind that garcia will not be resigned by the Bucs either. And Clayton will also be a free agent on Friday.
  • villageidiot1
We have to do the same in Philly with Donovan. I mean come on guys. Enough is enough. I'm not sure who the answer will be but it's not McNabb.
    • ItsWhatever
McNabb is 7 years younger, and much better. GET IT THROUGH YOUR HEAD. Teams struggle to find a solid QB. We have a great one. Be appreciative, and saying we should dump our BEST player. If we dump Don. We're screwed for years.
