Even in their fifth season together, quarterback Jason Campbell and wide receiver Santana Moss still are trying to get in sync on deep balls. But it definitely appears they've clicked the last two weeks. Campbell and Moss teamed on a 57-yard touchdown in the third quarter of a 19-14 loss in Week 3 to the Detroit Lions. And in Sunday's 16-13 victory over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, they combined on a 59-yard touchdown in the third. "I was just happy he didn't [overthrow] me," Moss said of Campbell's long pass against Tampa Bay. "He's one of those guys, man, that he don't know his own arm strength. He put it out there. I was just able to go get it. It might rank up there with one of the best ones he threw. "I think he's getting the feel of me now. I give him those looks every day in

Wednesday, October 7: Santana Moss Does The Cupid Shuffle, Avoids Endzone Dances

It's Wednesday, so things will be getting back into gear. There'll be practice, there'll be more news about offensive consultant Sherm Lewis, there'll be open locker room, and I'll get to all of that once it actually, you know, happens. But yesterday while the Sherm Lewis conference call was going on, I was at the Washington Ballet Studio at THEARC (The Town...

Campbell: 'It's Not the Coaches'

The hiring of offensive consultant Sherman Lewis is not an indication that Coach Jim Zorn and his offensive staff have performed poorly, quarterback Jason Campbell said today. "I don't think so. Not at all," he said. "I think Coach Zorn and all our coaches have done a good job, we just haven't done the things we need to and execute the way we're capable...

Campbell's decisions under pressure

I think this team, and ESPECIALLY Jason Campbell, would be a lot better off if JC could just make better decisions under pressure. B-Mitch even asked him about it postgame. It seems that he doesn't understand that he's allowed to throw the ball away under pressure. I can't remember one example...

Jason Campbell is EVIL...... EVVVVVIIIILLLLL (joke thread--NOT topic discussion) MET

After reading the board the past few days, it obvious that Campbell must be the most vile and evil soul since Hitler... and that eff'n Mark Brunell to create such hate and disgust on this board. It has to be more than just football.. So I was curious what did JC do to you to create such...

Jason Campbell Video - Bucs Game with All 4 Qts.

Bucs-Redskins – End of 1st Quarter

So far, so bad.  The Redskins look terrible on offense, and decent on defense.  Whatever criticism Jim  Zorn receives, he deserves at this point.  Whatever doubts there are about Jason Campbell are being justified.  The 1st quarter is over; Tampa Bay has the ball and a 7 – 0 lead.  Frankly, the Buccaneers out [...]

Analysis: Behind the Sherman Lewis Hiring

The decision to add Sherman Lewis, a longtime assistant in West Coast offenses, as a consultant might be Redskins owner Daniel Snyder's last-ditch effort to convince himself not to make a coaching change during the season. In the last few weeks, we've been hearing a lot about Snyder seeking answers from Coach Jim Zorn as to why the team has struggled to score. A confidante...

The Mysterious Jason Campbell

Three interceptions or two third quarter touchdowns? A fumble-prone stiff or a mobile quarterback that can get you the first down with his feet on any given play? A winner or a loser? In Washington or out? That’s the mystery of Jason Campbell. Washington’s record reflects it, the ownership group reflects it, the fan base reflects it. You want [...]

By The Numbers: Week 4

Here are some of the numbers from the Redskins narrow, hard-fought 16-13 victory over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers: 277 - Total net yards for the Washington Redskins offense. 229 - Total net yards for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers offense. 170 - Yards passing for Jason Campbell, who was 12 of 22, with 2 touchdowns and 3 interceptions 106 - Yards passing for the Bucs Josh Johnson...

Play-action pass saves Redskins

The play - a simple, if daring, play-action pass down the sideline to receiver Santana Moss - was something the Washington Redskins had been sitting on for two weeks. Coach Jim Zorn had installed it in practice and was waiting for the right time to use it. When he finally made the call, the Redskins' season was in a tenuous state. Empty orange seats ringed the top rows of FedEx...

Observations from Week 4: Redskins/Bucs

If the wins are going to come, they’re going to come ugly. This particular victory against the Bucs showed two different sides of the Skins. The encouraging side: Jason Campbell rebounded from an awful first half w/ two TD passes in the 3rd quarter; the defense provided constant pressure and created two key turnovers; Chris [...]
