TEAMS: Carolina Panthers, New Orleans Saints, Baltimore Ravens, New York Giants
The battle between Josh McCown and Matt Moore for the Panthers' backup quarterback spot continues to be an ongoing one.McCown was first off the bench to replace starting quarterback Jake Delhomme in the Panthers' preseason opener against the New York Giants, while Moore replaced Delhomme in Saturday's game with the Miami Dolphins. And the duel will continue in this week's game with the Baltimore Ravens, according to Carolina coach John Fox. "We haven't seen these guys play in many games, so we'll continue looking at them through the end of the preseason and then sort out where they stand."Fox also said that he was pleased with the play of both quarterbacks thus far. "Josh has definitely played well at times, and so has Matt."McCown completed 7 of 12 passes for 61 yards in Saturday's game against the Dolphins, while Moore connected on 4 of 9 passes for 41 yards.
