Cedric Benson arrested

Looks like it's alcohol this time around. This was PFT's previous story this morning:

As the "Days without an Arrest" meter creeps back toward double digits, it might once again be pushed back to zero before it can get there.

We're getting word, from multiple readers, of an arrest of a fairly high-profile player. The arrest occurred in Travis County, Texas. The charges, we're told, relate to boating while intoxicated; the last NFL player to our knowledge who was busted for such an infraction was Browns guard Eric Steinbach. (This time around, it's not him.)

We've yet to confirm this one, so we're not going to post the name just yet.

He's a Ricky Williams protege from the University of TX. Need I say more??

Benson got in trouble in college for busting into someone's apt. with a gun. Amazing how this stuff is exploding all over the league. Ain't just the Cowboys taking the heat anymore.

I am from Austin, Texas. Ced did bust into someone Apt. But he did not have a gun. If you are going to tell it. Get your facts together.

Hmm.......I just read that story again yesterday and let me see if I can find it again. Either way, he's been in trouble before.

Matt Forte is now the darkhorse to win rookie of the year. Don't be surprised if he is the starting running back in week one. Unfortunely while the NBA is losing it's thug image, the NFL is gaining one.

Turns out now he was pepper sprayed during the arrest too. Why do these guys think it's a great idea to resist the cops? What do they expect will happen? Guess "Slow Train" has had a few too many blows to the head on Soldier Field :-)

As Love Smith keeps saying over and over, "Rex Grossman IS our quarterback".

Under the Goodell regime, don't expect to see him for another 8 games...

Although that might be a best-case scenario for the Bears with the way Benson plays...

They are really going to have to get that prison team going.
