Lemon Waived, Ravens at 75
The Ravens waived quarterback Cleo Lemon, putting the team at the NFL-mandated 75-man roster limit before Tuesday’s 4 p.m. deadline. Lemon, who was signed by the Ravens on Aug. 16 as a precaution against a minor shoulder injury suffered by John Beck, did not get any snaps in any of Baltimore’s first three preseason contests.
ENOUGH!!! With the “Big Name” WR Talk
I had hoped that after Joe Flacco’s 23/28 247 yard performance in just over two quarters on Saturday night, the jibber jabber on Baltimore’s airwaves about the Ravens “needing” a dynamic wide receiver would quiet down at least a bit. Well, we’re now in just the second day of sports talk radio since the game, [...]
Clayton close, but still not certain
Wide receiver Mark Clayton said he's ready to play in Thursday's preseason finale in Atlanta, but once again, the Ravens aren't sure that will happen.
Coach John Harbaugh said this morning that it was "less possible" that Clayton (partial hamstring tear) will see action against the Falcons than injured linebacker Terrell Suggs (heel).
Clayton, however, says...

From combined dispatches Baltimore Ravens cornerback Samari Rolle will spend at least the opening six weeks of the season on the physically unable to perform list with a neck injury that could end his career. Ravens linebacker-defensive end Terrell Suggs (heel) took part in the morning walkthrough and is expected to practice Monday.
There is a chance that Suggs could see some limited action in Thursday's preseason finale at Atlanta.
"We want Suggs to take part this week," coach John Harbaugh said.
Suggs hurt his heel on Aug. 2 and has been sidelined ever since....
Suggs practices, Rice maintains hold on starting role
Pro Bowl outside linebacker Terrell Suggs practiced with the team and might play Thursday night in the final preseason game on the road against the Atlanta Falcons.
Suggs practiced the first three days after training camp begin in late July, and hasn't practiced since because of a strained Achilles' heel.
The Ravens are happy to have Suggs back on the field because...

Fantasy Football Food for Thought: Should Ray Rice Be Your No. 3 RB?
Ray Rice was a college football darling, helping bring a rather obscure Rutgers football program into the national spotlight. In 2006, his sophomore season, he rushed for an astounding 1,794 yards and 20 touchdowns, shattering the Scarlet Knights previous single season record (1,353 yards by J.J. Jennings in 1973).
Drafted in the second round in 2008, he had a strong rookie season...
The Baltimore Ravens are looking downright nasty on defense so far
The Ravens are suffocating opposing offenses during the pre-season. They are only allowed a microscopic 12.0 points per game (5th in NFL) so far. The Ravens are allowing only 91.7 rushing yards per game and 165.7 yards passing per game as they are hitting like the games already count. 24-year old OLB Jameel McCline has [...]
