Cowgirls Could Force Eagles to get a Number 1. WR

With the trade of Pacman Jones to the Cowgirls on the horizon, the completion of this deal will force the Eagles to obtain a true number 1. WR. Pacman Jones brings instant lagitimacy to the Cowgirls secondary which has been suspect at best. He is a proven playmaker as the Eagles can atest to. The ideal WR for the Eagles to bring would be R. Williams for a couple of reasons: 1) Great size and speed 2) Great Hands 3) Can turn a short catch into a big gain. But, even if the Eagles are able to bring in a WR like Williams, Johnson, or Boldin they might want to think about adding another via the draft. Someone that can act as a kick returner as well as a WR (D. Jackson WR Cal.) The Eagles are fortunate to have trading chips such as L. Sheppard or possibly L. Smith. I am fairl confident Sheppard could fetch a Late 1st rounder or early to mid 2nd rounder. That could be packaged with Smith to bring in R. Williams or any of those other receivers. But, I think that would be a deal the Lions would salivate over to bring in an athletic tight end like Smith and be able to draft a RB with that draft pick. The Eagles could then focus on trying to draft C. Williams OT Vandy (1st Rd) and I really like D. Morgan S N.C. State (2nd Rd) I like his physical play, speed, and most importantly leadership qualities (He would have big shoes to fill) and he is the same sizes as Dawkins 10lbs lighterLet him learn under Dawkins. I think Philly is 1-2 Players away from being the class of the NFC again. E-A-G-L-E-S EAGLES!

He is not T.O. but he is 6-2 220 and 26Y/O...

That addition should make our opponents nervous, but he hasn't been approved to play yet and that is a big maybe, don't you think?

In today's market there is no way that a player with Lito's injury history gets a first round pick. I'd be surprised to see even a second round pick there. Other than Washington, teams just value the picks a lot more than they did even 5 years ago.

Lito is worth a late 2nd or early 3rd (plus a late round pick). He's a better cornerback than DeAngelo Williams but obviously has injury probs of late. Pacman makes the Cowboys a pretty good secondary (even though they are getting up there in age). Of course Pac still needs to be reinstated and it will only take ONE mistake to get him a lifetime suspension (more than likely). He's worth a gamble with a late round draft pick and could possibly turn his life/career around in D with the help of Deion Sanders plus their team psychologist. A good "low risk" move by JJ.

DeAngelo Hall. Duh. haha :)

Roy Hall...I mean..Roy WILLIAMS haha probably isn't going anywhere. I think we have a better shot at getting Ocho, but Marvin is probably too stubborn to realize that he already lost his best player. So that will take them into the regular season ..and an ugly drawn out situation. Unless they are smart enough to trade him on draft day. To us of course. :) haha But somehow I don't see the Bengals FO as being that smart. We shall see.

1. Nothing is close to be final with Pacman and Dallas
2. Nothing Dallas does is going to impact what we do...when has it ever?

I don't get why some of you seem to think that we're the Yanks and they're the Red Sox and that we make moves to 1-up the other team or to piss them off. What has happened in recent years to make you believe such a stupid notion? Do you not recall us trading our 1st rd pick to the COWBOYS last year so they could take a player who could potentially hurt McNabb?

I'll say the same thing about Roy and Ocho that I said about Moss/Fitz...they WILL NOT BE EAGLES!

The word out of Dallas is that it's pretty much a done deal. Just trying to get the draft pick worked out.

Pacman will be reinstated for this season if the Cowboys didnt think so they would not make a move for him. Also pacman is a player that can step in after a year out of football and make an impact he is a true athlete. As for Lito a team might be willing to deal a late 1st because there is glaring need at CB for many teams that are a player or two away a mid 2nd for sure. Lions nor Bengals would ever come out and say either player is o the table but if a deal like L.J. Smith and Mid 2nd Rd with a 5th would probably fetch Roy. Lions have too many needs and TE is one of them and RB is the other. L.J. , Calvin, Feurry, McDonald, and pehaps Mendenhal or they can grab an OT in the first Rd and RB in the second or look to Defense with there picks. Right now the Lions need a lot pieces. And dont get me started on Cincy.

Pretty sure we can't include LJ in any deal. First he hasn't signed the franchise tag deal yet...he's only been designated by the team. Second, any deal involving LJ would most likely be contingent on him signing an extension, why would they want a 1 year rental?

Tblitz, I do think he will eventually be reinstated but if it is after the draft it becomes much less likely that he will wind up in Dallas as we are going to be drafting at least one high round corner and maybe two before its over. With that kind of money and the expectations that go with the high picks there may not be a place for him.
DTRIK19, you are right about the eagles just doing what is best for them and not what will beat the Cowboys. I am not sure if we agree to the same extent, but teams just build to get better based on the available players and their current rosters.

Dallas ESPN says they are just trying to work out a 1-Year deal on a restructured contract and a 4th or 5th round pick. It's going to happen.

Never have I ever heard of such a stupid theoery. Anybody who says Pacman will force the Eagles to get a #1 is retarded. Oh i guess because he picked Mcnabb once we should run for the hills. Nobody is worried about pacman except for himself. I hope the boys get him too, it won't be long before he hits the stripclub again. How many times has he said he'll clean up his act. I wonder what kind of shape he is in, just doesn't seem like a guy devoted to his health and physicality.

Yeah but R. Williams only has 1 year left on his contract so its a wash. Clayton and Mortenson say Pacman will most likely be reinstated before the draft. The guy played to seasons and he made plays everytime he touched the ball. He played the eagles once and he had a monster game. You dont want to see pacman twice a year with that Dallas D that gets pressure on every play. Pacman can play single coverage with the best of them oh and I dont need to mention the Eagles DO NOT HAVE A NO. 1 WR!

The Eagles have to see Dallas twice a year to win the division. Oh yeah and thats not true that the Eagles dont aquire players based on their competion they drafted LITO and SHELDON after they lost to the rams in the NFC title game Because the realized they needed more speed at corner. Why do you think they went after Samuel maybe because the receiver in the East Have killed them the last few years.

wow you're dumb. you honestly think they drafted Lito and Sheldon because of the RAMS? They drafted 2 young corners because BOBBY TAYLOR and TROY VINCENT were getting old and their careers were coming to an end. But hey...believe whatever dumb ideas you want.

Sounds like solid logic, DTRIK19. Have to go with that explanation.

Yeah at the time when the Rams were the class of NFC "the greatest show on turf" and yes Bobby T and Vincent were too slow to cover thats why they went to different teams Taylor to the Seahawks and Vincent to the Bills I thought that was common knowledge

The Rams had NOTHING to do with it...it would have happened either way

Unless you can somehow argue that faster CBs would have improved the running defense. You may recall in that game against the Rams, Warner was 22-of-33 for 212 yds...and his TD pass was for only FIVE yards. I hardly think our CBs were burned! We couldn't stop Marshall Faulk who racked up 159 yds against us.

Yes but Jim Johnsons D is only effective with fast corners that can cover long enough for a pass rush get there. If you remember the pass that Warner completed to Bruce on that essentially led to the Rams winning the game Vincent was beat bad. Im not denying that Bobby T and Vincent were getting old but the Eagles needed more speen Vincent and Taylor both moved on to other team and started right away Vincent was moved to safety because he lacked the speed.

you are bass ackwards my friend. the pass rush needs to get there first, something they couldn't seem to do. No pass rush + no run defense = rams win.....the corners were not factored into the equation. In fact, AL HARRIS (remember that guy?) had a heck of a game

I simply stating thats when the Eagles made their push for a faster defense. To simply say that Taylor and Vincent were too old is not true because two teams aquired them and were made starter as soon as they left the eagles. Not to mention a couple of months following that game the Eagles used their two first picks on CB its a fact. They went for yes younger but faster corners and Al Harris did have a heck of a game but the Eagles let him go for a reason too many Pass Interference calls he wich is usually a result of lack of spped to stay with a receiver.

and i simply stated it woulda happen had they played any team...the Rams had nothing to do with it.

Clearly the Eagles recognized that Speed kills because the Rams were bombing on teams hence "Greatest Show on Turf" referring to their speed

The Rams were not bombing on the Eagles and the Rams were not even approaching the standard nfl offensive scheme. (Hense the name greatest show on turf) You have to have great pass protection to even be able to throw like that or take advantage of that lack of speed you keep mentioning. It is just illogical to draft to beat one team when the 15 other games you will play will not be helped. Teams do not build to beat one opponent. The nfl is not Michigan/Ohio State.

Thats not what im saying at all. I m saying the Rams did set the standard for league they were heavy favorites to win the super bowl that year. Just like everyone is going after DE and DT because of the Giants ability to get to Brady last year. Its a copycat League everyone knows that. The Patriots were able to overcome the odds and beat the Rams because they Were faster and more Physical at the corner position. Limiting Warners options.

I hate people who think the eagle's secondary is the 3rd best. Honestly were third best without asante, so give us credit NFL. Roy is not the answer, his numbers this year have been...suckish i say quan or johnson

How many times have you masturbated to this today?

LMAO!!!! Smartass!

I've just seen that link on about 4 blogs. His hand must be getting tired by now.

Man, not nearly as much ints Romo threw against Buffalo or Philly

It is nice though when your QB can throw 5 INT's and still win a game.

Hey-whatever works.

Ya it doesnt hurt to have a 7 time pro bowl WR, a 3 time pro bowl TE and two pro bowl runningbacks not to mention an all pro bowl offensive line BTW talk when u win a playoff game or superbowl without jerry jones selling out his soul

The Answer Left
Philly has always been the team to make it to the top of the mountain, but we never could stick our flag in the promised land. Peoplemay argue we have had one of the best dunasties with the Philadelphia Warriors and Sixers (era of Dr. J, Moses, and Darryl), but when it came to Philly Football we were always the ones to fail. McNabb one of 4 QBs in history to make it to 4 conference championships (only Tom brady other starting QB to do this). We arguably lost the Answer but we got it with Maurice Cheek's desire driven sixers. So...what will it be Eagles? The Sixers have answered twice, and you just left a message 3 times, time to make the call....

Is Devin Thomas the answer? or Quan? or Kenny? One player is not the Answer the healthiness of the three leaders and an all around smash mouth football team is it. Ask me, and I have been highly tumultous in my draft plan for philly, but now i think the pieces fall in place. We trade buck (i know i know) for a 2nd earlier than our own to pick Devin Thomas. We pick Kenny Philips 1st, Devin Thomas and Chris Johnson 2nd, Lito and a 3rd might be gone for the Quan, an Adibi for a 4th, and OT/DT depth. So...Is this the answer? No it isn't it sounds good, but we need to establish that we are the elite, that the NFC isn't a joke, that it can be just as good. So what will it be eagles fans? For those of you who have supported McNabb thru all the good and bad, mostly a 62+% good, this is when you will see our flag, so heres the list

What we get: What We pay

Kenny Philips 1st Rounder

Devin Thomas Correll Buckhalter

Chris Johnson 2nd Rounder

Anquan Boldin Lito Sheppard and a 3rd Rounder

Xavier Adibi 4th Rounder

Depth in OT/DT 5th-7th Rounders

And, talk when your team wins a Super Bowl, too.

there is a negative chance of this ever happening. If Otah or Williams is on the board we will take them. If Buck fetched a 5th rd pick i would be shocked, The cards have already said they do not want Lito, I like adibi and Johnson. We would have to take Johnson in the 2nd def We may be fortunate enough fetch a 2nd rounder or maybe GB would take Lito with its late 1st rd pick.

Dont worry, we'll win it the right way, the American way-by kicking ass and taking names
