Johnny Knox is the first Bears rookie wide receiver to score a touchdown in three straight games since Willie Gault did so in 1983. Only three other Bears (at another position) have accomplished the feat: Running backs Walter Payton in 1975, Anthony Thomas in 2001 and Matt Forte in 2008.

Vizio Pro Football Pro-Files: Behind the Scenes with Brian Urlacher
Vizio has teamed up with Fox Sports Net to present some unique, behind-the-scenes looks at the NFL’s brightest starts. This week the series features the Chicago Bears‘ own Brian Urlacher. Here’s an excerpt from the intro that was sent to me:
In the age of the 24-hour news cycle, sports radio, the internet, blogs and twitter…. [...]
Roach, Hillenmeyer both in LB picture
It will not be an issue until Hunter Hillenmeyer is ready to play, but when he is, the Bears are going to have yet another decision to make at linebacker. Hillenmeyer was first up when Brian Urlacher was lost for the season with a wrist injury, and now the team will have to choose between the heady veteran who has always been best suited for the middle, and the younger, more athletic Nick Roach.
Jay Cutler Shares His Diabetes Story
While Jay Cutler's success is of utmost importance to Bears fans, it's also going to benefit children with diabetes. With each touchdown pass Cutler throws, Eli Lilly and Company will donate $1,000 to the American Diabetes Association's (ADA) "campership" fund -- roughly the cost of sending one child to a attend a week of diabetes camp. For each pass that Cutler...
Jay Cutler High School Video Highlights
Photo credit: jaycutlersix.com Check out a younger, smaller Jay Cutler in this video done by Lance Wilkerson, who covered Jay in high school. You have to love Cutler catching a TD pass on a gadget play. I'll be looking for that against the Falcons. ...
Toub always seems to have special recipe for Bears
Carol Slezak: Johnny Knox ran back a kickoff 102 yards, and Danieal Manning returned one 43 yards. Earl Bennett returned a punt 25 yards, and Devin Hester got in on the act with a 24-yard return. Brad Maynard dropped four punts inside the 20-yard line, and Robbie Gould finally kicked a field goal from beyond 50 yards. And the coverage team held the Detroit Lions to a measly 149 yards...
Orton vs. Cutler
Nothing against the job that Jay Cutler has done for the Bears, and he’s been outstanding since halftime of the season opener, but you have to give Kyle Orton kudos for the way he’s played in Denver so far.
Orton is the only full-time starting quarterback in the NFL who hasn’t been intercepted this season, and he’s ninth in the NFL with a passer rating of 97.7. Cutler is...

Bye Weekend Thoughts and THE PICKS!
Dan Pompei's love letter to recent draft classes feels a little premature. I'm a big fan of Jerry Angelo but let's see more than four games before we start believing statements like, "Before camp started, the Bears didn't know if they could count on Afalava, Bowman, [Kellen] Davis, Knox, Bennett and [Chris] Williams. Now they don't know if they could...
Gilbert Rookie Diary: 13th Entry
Although he was activated for Week 3 at Seattle, Chicago Bears rookie Jarron Gilbert didn't see the field. That was not the case in Week 4 against the Lions, as the youngster finally made a contribution. In the latest installment of his Rookie Diary, Gilbert writes about his first game action in the NFL.

Picks making front office look good
A half dozen of the Bears' picks from the last two seasons have come on strong so far this fall. Four of the players were taken in the fifth round or lower. And really, these draft picks probably have made a more significant statement about the work of general manager Jerry Angelo and his staff than the Jay Cutler deal.
Week 4 power rankings: Detroit Lions hold steady despite loss to Chicago Bears
Winning a second straight game was a little too much for the Detroit Lions to achieve, but they certainly did keep it competitive against the Chicago Bears at Soldier Field.Detroit let the game slip away from them in the second...
