Apart from the clamor that comes up every season for a No. 1 receiver here in Philly, the other need on everyone’s list was a blocking tight end. But is it necessary?     I agree that a blocking tight-end is not necessary. I didn't know that till I did some research into the play calling and how they would utilize a blocking tight end. That being said, I have no problem with having our receiving tight ends getting better at blocking.

    in the eagles offense, a blocking te is very low on the list of importance.

    in goalline formations we should just stick MJG, and Nick Cole at TE, hows that for some blocking?
  • Yeah it's necessary, but Celek has not had to opportunity to prove himself as a blocker, everyone just assumes that he can't block because Gary Cobb says so, and Gary Cobb can't even spell.

    No it isnt necessary, we pass way more than we run so in the scope of things a "Recieving" TE is more beneficial than a "Blocking" TE
