Oakland
It's hard to say for sure, because their opposition didn't provide the sternest of tests, but ... could it be? Could it be that the Oakland Raiders managed to impersonate a non-ridiculous football team for 60 minutes last night? They competed. They were more physical than the Chargers. In the end, San Diego's offensive weapons proved to be just a bit too much, but for a good portion of the game, it looked like Oakland's physicality would rule the day. They had me very, v...

or are the Charges fing STUPID for getting rid of Marty? Yes.
  • or answer is yes----they would have won a super bowl----about raiders---this is not a fluke--if they play together like last night---they will surprise the league.

Actually they made a pretty interesting statement on Mike and the Mike show this morning. The Bills and the Raiders are not as bad as everyone thought and the Patroits and the Chargers are not as good as everyone thought.

maybe, it is the first game of the season, isn't it kind of early to determine how good a team is?

After getting the top pick every year, you're bound to come out with some talent. Tom Cable is also doing a great job with the o-line. He made Michael Bush and Darren McFadden look like superstars against one of the NFL's best rush defenses.

Now I understand the Richard Seymour trade. The Raiders truly believe they have a shot this year.

First time in a long time that the Raiders looked like they were actually playing with pride. They have KC, Denver and Houston next. Based on last night, it is conceivable that they are 3-1 to start the season facing a string of average opponents. That would be a huge confidence boost for that team. If they let mental mistakes take control and lose 2 of the next 3 they will be back to where they started...a joke for the rest of the league. This next string of games is not just important for the season, but also for the franchise that needs to turn it around asap. It was only 7 years ago when this team was in the Super Bowl.

It's too early to say they suck, but we will probably end up saying they suck eventually. One things for sure, they choked last night.

Although there is no such thing as a moral victory in the NFL, they did hang with a team expected to at least make it to playoffs if not AFC Championship or Super Bowl.

    Then again it's all speculation.

Seymour was an instant impact player.

Raiders are the best team that you thought was going to suck this year. Eat it.
