Linebacker Takeo Spikes suffered a torn rotator cuff in Philadelphia's 10-6 win over Dallas.
Coach Andy Reid said he was not sure when Spikes sustained the injury, but that he played much of the game hurt.
"We'll just see how he does, if we manage it or not," Reid said. "We'll see how he's able to handle that."
Spikes was able to continue playing Sunday, but two Eagles who were forced from the game might be able to come back for next week's visit to New Orleans.
Tight end Matt Schobel, who suffered a concussion on a high hit by Ken Hamlin, and guard Shawn Andrews could both be back for the Saints game.
Reid said Monday he was more optimistic about Schobel's chances than he was after the game, and an MRI on Andrews' knee came back negative.
Already playing without starter L.J. Smith, the Eagles had to rely on rookie Brent Celek after Hamlin went high on Schobel while the tight end was reaching up for a pass on Philadelphia's first possession.
"I worry about the players being hurt," Reid said. "Both guys went down."
But Reid said he understood that Hamlin was trying to make a play.
"Sometimes things happen, especially with a defensive back. You tell them to go after the ball, so they're playing high, then all of a sudden they've got to tackle."
Running back Correll Buckhalter, who sat out with a concussion, and Smith (knee) are both improving, Reid said.

Good News for the Eagles All Around
Finally!
For once, there is actually good news coming from Eagles training camp, and it doesn't just involve there being no bad news.
First of all, it looks like the whole Shawn Andrews thing will finally come to a sluggish end, as Andy Reid reported in a press conference earlier today:
"I think he'll be here sometime today. ?Not sure exactly when, but we'...
My 2 Cents on Fans, TEs, and Trot
It was nice to finally get out there in a game situation last week. I liked the way the team responded to the excitement in the atmosphere. For a preseason game, the fans were amazing and me and the other guys fed off that energy. Keep it up!
I've had a number of people ask me about the tight end situation. Matt Schoebel and Brent Celek played well the other night. It was...
Eagles put Tag on L.J. Smith.
The Eagles have decided to put the Franchise Tag on L.J. Smith. The Eagles currently have a question mark at the Tight End position with Smith coming off a injury plagued season, and second year TE Brent Celek still being very much an unproven player. There was a clear hole at the TE position last ye...

Lorenzo Booker Is Our Kick Returner
"He's got really good speed up the field," Rory Segrest said. "He can see the creases there. Same thing from a running back position - he knows how to read the scheme, he knows where to be and he's got the ability to get there."
Looks like Lorenzo Booker is our man at kick returner. Hopefully the elusiveness he showed yesterday in breaking the 60 yard...
Monday Morning Tight End

Westbrook Intends to Play Against Giants
Last year Westbrook rushed for 68 and 97 yards respectively, and scored 3 times against the Giants. If Westbrook can't go, look for Correll Buckhalter and Tony Hunt to get some burn (although the odds of Westbrook not playing against the G-Men are the same odds that you're going to go see the new Resident Evil movie this weekend - exactly!).
The next Brian Westbrook?
Reports out of Philly suggest that the Eagles are grooming Booker to become Westbrook's stand-in this season. He has the same shiftiness as Westy, and only time will tell if the play-making ability also is shared. As it stands right now, Booker is slated to unseat the talented but oft-injured Correll Buckhalter as Westy's primary backup.

Brian Westbrook considering hold out
Not usually around the computer at this time on a Friday night, but I have a ultimate frisbee tournament this weekend in Baton Rouge for which I need to stay rested. But being home on a Friday night does have it advantages sometimes, like quality time with the wife, great stuff on TV (OK, not really, but DVDs and Wii are fun) and being able to report on breaking news.
This kind...
Eagles Injury Update: McNabb OK, Westbrook Day to Day
Yesterday was a tough day for the two most important players on the Eagles, Donovan McNabb and Brian Westbrook. McNabb was injured late in the first half against the Steelers, hurting his chest. He would later return to the game and played well. Westbrook, on the other hand, never returned after injuring his ankle in the second quarter. He was later seen on crutches as he left...

Congrats to Brent Celek and the Eagles on making it to the NFC championship. He scored a big touchdown yesterday helping take down the Gmen and now he visits The Cooley Zone for a interview. ?Not only is he a great guy as well as a great dancer, he is also funny as hell. ?We had a solid talk ...
Eagles sign Stacy Andrews; Housh visiting with Seahawks
The Eagles have reportedly signed free agent guard Stacy Andrews, the brother of current Eagles' tackle Shawn Andrews. This most likely means that Jon Runyan's time in Philly has come to an end, despite not missing a game in nine seasons, playing through numerous injuries.Free agent T.J. Houshmandzadeh, who has repeatedly expressed interest in signing with the Eagles, is...
2009 Eagles Draft Needs - The Big Back
The 2008 season is filled with games we as fans will look back onand want to punch a hole in the wall. Chicago, Cincinnati, first Giantsgame, and both Washington losses are 5 off the top of my head. And thething that all these games had in common was the inability of theEagles' offense to gain that 1 tough yard. Some blame the Eagles ineptness on the offensive line. The loss ofShawn...
Eagles - Giants Rivalry: Who Scares You The Most?
Continuing our Rivalry series with Hot Stove New York, today we take a look at the player on our respective team that scares us the most.
Kwame (Hot Stove New York):
James Butler scares the crap out of me. He plays safety for the New York Giants. On the surface, the 4th year defensive back and starting safety for the Giants is a decent player. He accumulated 68 tackles and 3 interceptions...
