The following guest post comes from Level regular GreggyD.

Fans all over the city have been ripping their hair, eyes, and whatever else out since free agency has started and have been bickering back and forth about how this organization doesn’t care about the players who have given them so much (i.e., Dawkins, Tra Thomas, etc). Well, in today’s Daily News, Les Bowen has a piece focusing on the recently departed tackle who seems somewhat disappointed with the Eagles front office and coaching staff as well.

""I think it would make the team a lot better, if they were that type of coaches... It would definitely change the atmosphere of the team. You look at other coaches, who seem like they really get into the players' place.”

Tra continues with…

"I look at the coach from Pittsburgh [Mike Tomlin], he seems like he's a real passionate coach. He's really into his players, joking around with them. I think he's a great motivator, also. Other coaches around the league, I've seen them get passionate. Philly is just a little different. It's more businesslike, you know? Like, 'I expect you to do it, and that's it.' ''

I think that “coach from Pittsburgh” has a Lombardi trophy to show off as well. Now I am not going to sit here and blast the organization for the moves it has made. I did that with Duce Staley, Brian Mitchell, Troy Vincent, Bobby Taylor, and the list goes on and on. I was wrong every time. Was I sad to see Dawkins go? Absolutely. Was I upset that Tra Thomas left? No, not really, but I can see why some fans were.

The fact of the matter is that what everyone has been saying is true. The Eagles are all about running a business, and they don’t care if personal feelings get in the way. I suppose that’s how the business leaders of the world make their money, and for Jeffrey Lurie, this team is more of an investment than a die-hard Mark Cuban-esque devotion. I sometimes wish I saw that fire in him, but it will never happen. I still have high hopes for the draft and even if the team signed Leonard Weaver and/or Torry Holt, I would be more than satisfied. It remains to be seen if they will though.

At least we all know now that the Eagles live by the same rule that a good Don lives by: “this is business, not personal.”

We'll keep you posted on the next Birds to leave the nest and bash the hell out of it. There seems to be another one every week. Any bets on who's next? Would Runyan do it? Thanks to Greg for the post.
