Why was he "kicked out of the Navy" The Navy won't say because of "personal privacy" Don't ask don't tell?
After trying Tony Hunt and Dan Klecko at fullback, the Eagles decided it was finally time to bring in someone who can actually play the position. They signed former Patriot Kyle Eckel, a Philly native, for the remainder of the season. To make room for Eckel, the team released safety J.R. Reed.
Eckel played 12 games last season with the Patriots and ran for 90 yards and 2 touchdowns. He was waived by the Patriots back in September. Eckel should bring some stability to the fullback position that isn't a huge part of the Eagles offense, but it is still going to be nice to have someone who can actually block in the backfield. Should help out on all those chances at the goal line.

Reed wore a Rays jersey yesterday so he deserved to get cut!

Paint the Town Red!
With the bye week comes a chance to rest and get ready for the remainder of the football season. At 3-3 we had a chance to catch our breath and watch the rest of the NFC East settle in a little. We still have a tremendous amount of work ahead of us to get better and make a push for the playoffs.
Speaking of playoffs, I had a chance to see some of the baseball games this past week...
YES!!!!
AR has just confirmed in his press conference that Kevin Curtis and DeSean Jackson will be starting at WR on Sunday. It's about time he's realizing that Reggie Brown on the field is not an upgrade over DeSean Jackson. I'm looking forward to seeing Curtis, DeSean and Hank Baskett on the field together.
It's nice to see that Donovan will have his full compliment of receivers on hand.
NIGHTMARE ON BROAD STREET!!! THE RETURN OF THE CLOWN!!!
Eagles fans the nightmare is effect!!! Looks like the return of Reggie Clown is full effect!!! He's been practicing and is looking forward to returning to the line up!!! This is just what we been waiting for people!!! It's bad enough we didn't make a play for GONZO during the trade deadline now we have to deal with this!!! The front office has decided to lie to us and still tries...

Eagles' Brown, Curtis eager to return
Reggie Brown said there are plenty of footballs to go around, but at last check, the rules still prohibit the use of more than one at a time during a game.
Kevin Curtis said the more receivers the Eagles have, the better. Yet, when it comes time for the coaching staff to dole out playing time, who will get what?
It's likely that Curtis and Brown, the Eagles' top...
Eagles have confidence in Max Jean-Gilles with Andrews out indefinitely
THREE EAGLES made the Pro Bowl last year. Yesterday, head coach Andy Reid announced that one of them won't play for at least another 6 weeks, and very well could miss the remainder of this season.
And yet, around the locker room, there was no sense that the 3-3 team's playoff chances had been seriously damaged, when right guard Shawn Andrews had disc surgery Tuesday, by Dr...
Kevin Curtis to start in return
Kevin Curtis, who led the Eagles with 1,110 receiving yards last season, will play his first game of the season Sunday against Atlanta at Lincoln Financial Field.
And he won't just be easing back into the lineup.
Coach Andy Reid said yesterday that Curtis, who underwent sports hernia surgery in August, would start with rookie DeSean Jackson when the Eagles resume...
Shawn Andrews out for at least 6 weeks
Just posted to philly.com about 20 minutes ago. Looks like Max is the guy for a while.
Follow Up File
Hey, remember Jerome McDougle, the one-time Eagles first round pick who was released before the end of training camp and picked up by the division rival Giants? Philly Fan was absolutely, positively convinced for a few days there (especially in the netherworld of Grouse Radio) that Ol' Stiffie was going to turn his entire career for our hated rivals. With his impressive 2008 preseason...
Bulletin Board Material for Sparty, Lou Holtz is an Old Crazy Man
Michigan DE Brandon Graham gave little brother some bulletin board material with his comments after the loss to Penn State. His exact words were, "I feel like we're not going to lose to State."The question came from a reporter in the locker room after the game Saturday night. Whether he meant no ...

Breaking News: Shawn Andrews Under The Knife
Head coach Andy Reid and head athletic trainer Rick Burkholder announced that Pro Bowl guard Shawn Andrews underwent successful surgery on Tuesday to repair the back injury that he suffered in the Week 2 loss to Dallas.
The surgery will not force Andrews to be placed on the injured reserve list. Burkholder said that the recovery time could range from six weeks to three...
Andrews out for 6 weeks to 3 months....which means the whole season possibly
Don't have a link here, but on AR's press conference, he confirmed that Shawn Andrews had surgery yesterday to repair a bulging disc in his back. The surgery was a success according to Rick Burkhalter or you spell the trainer's name. It's a big loss for us to lose Shawn, but Max is really improving his game week by week.
Eagles WR Reggie Brown Likely To Play Vs Falcons
It's likely that Eagles WR Reggie Brown will be on the field when the Eagles, fresh off their bye week, resume play Sunday against Atlanta at Lincoln...
Bad Altitude: What Side You On?
I have a long-held bias against Philadelphia sports and the Phillies in particular. Philly fans have a reputation that precedes them everywhere, and in general the town has been light on stars with national appeal. I'm not a big Donovan McNabb guy, I can't stand Iverson (or what he's doing to basketball in Denver now), and John Kruk and Mike Schmidt just don't do it for me. Not to...
