Eagles bring in a new fullback and cut J.R. Reed

After trying Tony Hunt and Dan Klecko at fullback, the Eagles decided it was finally time to bring in someone who can actually play the position. They signed former Patriot Kyle Eckel, a Philly native, for the remainder of the season. To make room for Eckel, the team released safety J.R. Reed. Eckel played 12 games last season with the Patriots and ran for 90 yards and 2 touchdowns. He was waived by the Patriots back in September. Eckel should bring some stability to the fullback position that isn't a huge part of the Eagles offense, but it is still going to be nice to have someone who can actually block in the backfield. AR has just confirmed in his press conference that Kevin Curtis and DeSean Jackson will be starting at WR on Sunday. It's about time he's realizing that Reggie Brown on the field is not an upgrade over DeSean Jackson. I'm looking forward to seeing Curtis, DeSean and Hank Baskett on the field together. It's nice to see that Donovan will have his full compliment of receivers on hand.

Don't have a link here, but on AR's press conference, he confirmed that Shawn Andrews had surgery yesterday to repair a bulging disc in his back. The surgery was a success according to Rick Burkhalter or you spell the trainer's name. It's a big loss for us to lose Shawn, but Max is really improving his game week by week.
