Erasmus James - Torn ACL - done for the year

He is the third player on the Vikings defense to be done for the year, joining LB Chad Greenway and DB Tank Williams on the sidelines. This is James' second sophmore stint to end in season-ending injury. He broke his hip and was out for the 2003 year for the UW Badgers (Go Big Red [I mean Let's Go Red]).

James' injury will not be too big a blow for the D-line strong Vikings, and we'll probably see last year's starter, Darrion Scott take James' spot on the line.

Feel free to thumbs-down me for this post, since it's worthless and adds nothing to the topic, but ... "Go Big Red?" Since when was this a University of Wisconsin rallying cry? As a Wisconsin grad who attended just about every football and basketball game in my four years there and many more since, I've never once heard "Go Big Red." "Go Big Red" is the domain of Nebraska, and they can have it.

well, at the football games they put the "GO - BIG - RED" signs up, plus every school in the country is red and white, so why can't Wisconsin be Big Red??

Jesus, Jesus, at football games the cheerleaders display signs that state, "GO" "BIG" "RED" when they run out of other gimmicks during the game. You must have spent too much time in the press box.

I'm pretty sure the cheerleaders held up signs that said "Let's" "Go" "Red." I don't recall "Go Big Red" at all. But I don't recall much from that period of time.

I will take careful notes on my next visit.

I was in Madison last weekend. The cheerleaders do have signs that say "let's" "go" "red." But, I think the crowd cheers GO BIG RED anyway.

I sold my season tickets when I was a student. It bought me so much alcohol and *#&@s. I bought my friend's tickets as well, since he was abroad that semester. Take the example of the homecoming game against Ohio State (we won!! snapping a huge OU winning streak), I sold my two tickets for $150 each, exactly $36 more than the cost of the season tickets. It worked against Purdue, when I got $130 each for them. It worked for Minnesota, when I got $100 for them. I made so much money not going to those games that it made me a much better Badgers football fan!
