Everybody do the ... jump shot?

Monday Night: The Giants keep me a respectable 2-3 for this last week, and upcoming is a big weekend. To keep it to the top five games, I have declared the following games unworthy of my attention:

-Dallas at Carolina. See Cowboys comments below, suffice to say this one won't be close

-Seattle at Kansas City. Records aside, these teams suck.

-Jacksonville at Philadelphia. These teams ... wait, these guys will still make a pretty sweet matchup.

Strike that! Next week, six games! It has been revealed!

So anyways, Monday Night: Bill Parcells had a shorter leash on Bledsoe than I thought, but did I not accurately call this as the game where he gets taken out? One pick was all it took. Romo looked marginally better, but without the necessary reps for a good game. The difference between the QB's will come down to whether or not Dallas plans on blocking well the rest of the year. If they do, its a wash. If they don't Bledsoe won't last the year so they might as well play Romo.

The Giants looked for real, and could someone please tell me which video the jump shot is from? I don't watch BET as much as I did when I was a boy ...But the Cowboys made it hard to judge them. Did they perform expertly a bend-but-not-break strategy, r was Dallas just sloppy? Were they confusing in their schemes, or was Dallas just sloppy? The jury's still out for me on these guys.

So anyways ... Top 10! (last weeks rankkings in parentheses)

1. Chicago Bears (1). I can't slide these guys out on a bye week, no matter how much better Indy looked. They play cake teams the next two weeks, then go to the Northeast for that brutal road stretch. But for now, they get the nod over ...

2. Indianapolis Colts (3). I tried to get their goat, and they responded. But Peyton needs a win in Denver to stay atop the AFC. They crave home field as much as anyone else, but their going to have to go to two legit contenders at home, Broncos and Pats, to get it. Good games ahead.

3. New England Patriots (4). I'm not going to ask for any dap for calling their blowout against the Bills. All they do is win games. But who kicks for them in January this year? Gostkowski?

4. Denver Broncos (6). I'll give them some love this week, because their gonna have to earn it against Indy. This will be a blockbuster game for sure. Jake turns the ball over too much to win a close one, but he's got a defense to cover his mistakes.

5. Carolina Panthers (2). Whoops! They can't finish off Cincy when it matters, and their defense let up at the end. They need to run the ball better, but I'm still sold on the franchise making it deep.

6. Baltimore Ravens (8). This whole list seems to be Indy, New England and a bunch of defenses. Will McNair be healthy? Spry? Going into New Orleans isn't easy, because its a devestated town with no other attractions besides the football game. Each week the Saints play in what amounts to Sarejevo, and inspired by the suffering they see, win one for the refugees.

7. San Diego Chargers (5). Falling hard; this might be the last time you see them in the top ten if they lose to St. Louis. I'm disappointed in Shawne Merriman if what they allege is true; he was going to be on my halfway All-Pros until a last second change. Shaun Phillips is out as well. Will Merriman get a convenient reprieve until later, allowing him to play? They better hope so. Their defense is limping and their offense can't carry them alone.

8. New Orleans Saints (9). This game will be a big one, but I'm already leaning towards the home team. Like I said earlier, New Orleans is a tragedy STILL OCCURRING, and the players do what they can to alert the nation to the situation. Hats off to them for doing it. I'll be rooting for them this weekend, even though I love McNair.

9. New York Giants (unranked). This was a big win on the road, and they are now the only tema in hte division undefeated. That pass rush is nasty, but they need to stay healthy. Doesn't look like Arrington is going to be available. Trap game coming up against Tampa Bay, they better be careful.

10. Cincinnati Bengals (unranked). They knock my pet favorites, the Jets, out of the top ten. I asked myself who I'd be more scared to play, and the answer was the Bengals. Their defense came up big against Carolina, and they needed that win. But their offense didn't really impress me.
