As a Dolphins fan(thanks for the condolences) I usually have nothing but dislike for the Jets. It's nothing personal, just that they're in the same division as Miami and facing them twice a year brings ample opportunity to foster some hatred. However, their signing of Brett Favre resulted in the release of Chad Pennington. That release resulted in Miami signing Pennington. It also means that he'll probably be the starting quarterback for the Dolphins when they face the Jets in the first game of the season. And how sweet would it be to see Pennington beat wonderboy Brett Favre, and hand an opening day loss to his former team and Miami's hated division rival? Honestly, if Miami only wins one game again this season I hope it's this one.

Griffey is a Brave

linkI don't know what the heck the Braves are thinking. Griffey makes less baseball sense for them then he does for us, and all the other positive factors he would have brought with him here, such as ticket sales, are non factors in Atlanta. Very strange indeed.Update 2:52pmGriffey has denied the report! No agreement has been reached. This is turning into like a Brett Favre kind of story.

Linky Blizzard

The Starting Five asks if Brett Favre is really better than Warren Moon. For the record, I don't think Moon is nearly as good as Favre (and I certainly like Moon better--he had a good couple of years for my beloved Purple). But the point is valid: because of racism, Moon's first six years of pro foot...

Brett Favre Retires

Brett Favre is one of those sports personalites that you just can't hate. The man stayed with the Packers for 17 years, this franchise in the back of nowhere (otherwise known as Green Bay) where he has become almost deified by the population. He's had great success in his 17 seasons but always remain...

The Wildcat is Here to Stay

According to Coach Sparano, the Dolphins have only scratched the surface on the Wildcat formation? "We just scratched the surface of what we were trying to do," Sparano said Monday, a day after the Dolphins routed the New England Patriots 38-13. "This is not something that just came up and we scribbled on the board a couple days ago." "It wasn...

Championship Sunday

What a difference a year makes. At this time last year, we all thought Brett Favre would wind up in Mississippi golfing in retirement and Tom Coughlin would be either be fired before the 2007 season began or would be fired after week 3. Oh, and there were the Bears preparing for the Saints in [...]

Giants too hot to lose on frozen tundra

The Giants are going to take a Lambeau Leap right into the Super Bowl. They will overcome the ghost of Vince Lombardi, the presence of the legendary Brett Favre, the mystique of Titletown, USA, and the bone-chilling weather that will...

253 / 275

Thank you BrettBrett Favre is retiring and football is worse for it. As an NFL fan there is always a tendency to think of those robo quarterbacks, the ones that played like they were bred for the game, John Elway, Dan Marino, Warren Moon, as the prime performers in history, and they are, nothing to...

Week Number 8 Deathrattlesports.com NCAA D-1 Bottom 5 Ranking

Well at least the Bottom 5 has returned to a normal state. There was only one change in the rankings for this week as my "debuting" team North Texas rose up from the throngs of defeat to snatch a victory from Louisiana Monroe 31 to 21. You will have to read through my entire article to see which team replaced the "Mean Green", it is a minor surprise, but shouldn...

A Look at Aaron Rogers

The dust has settled a bit from Brett Favre's retirement. Some people just won't let go insisting that he will be back. Hopefully these people will catch up come September when the Packers take the field without him. Yes folks…the Aaron Rodgers era is here. How long it lasts is up to Aaron Rodgers. There are things that are in his control and some that are not. ...

Packers QB Has A Dog-Gone Good Time In Alaska

Apparently, Green Bay QB Aaron Rodgers is taking this “frozen tundra” business a bit too literally. PACKERS NEWS reports that the heir apparent to Brett Favre was in Alaska this week, participating in a dog sled race. Share This

That's very Bigby of him

Well, you're never out of it with Brett Favre....Now, here's what I wrote before the 82-yarder to Jennings. Why was Atari Bigby named Atari?Because he was too stupid to be named Intellivision. In short, some really stupid penalties, especially by Bigby with four penalties - late hits, false starts, kic...
