Finish Strong

I allowed myself to scoreboard watch last night as the Bears played the Vikings. Had the Bears won, we still would have had an outside chance for the playoffs. However, that doesn't change a thing for our preparation this week. We need to finish strong. It's important for our team filled with young players to learn how to win and take that momentum into the offseason. We did that my rookie year and it paid dividends the following year.

Mcnabb,Sorry about the playoffs first of all. Second sorry about the turmoil once again with members of the media trying to turn something into a story for their own greed. .........But, How bout them cowboys?????lol I loved the T after the touchdown...priceless... I'm confident the team will finish strong and keep the momentum rolling next year. With a good offseason of young players developing and you finally getting some time to just rest and not worry about rehab and reporters this team should be recharged and ready to take the NFL by storm. Here's to a big win this Sunday and a good week all around. GO EAGLES!!!

Great game on Sunday. They have that to build on. Having DMac back is the key. He still is a franchise player we need who will only be better next year after he is 100% healthy.

Hey man sorry bout that i thought you guys did pretty good but at least you beat your rival and thanks for helping the pack try to get home field advantage

Hey McNabb - Thank you so much for beating the Cowbaby's - That was my Superbowl!! Especially in their field! That was the best Christmas present - that was so sweet!! I loved the way Westbrook stopped on the one yard line! Way to use the clock up!! Tell Runyan thanks for the awesome advice! I can't believe how dirty they were trying to play! Our defense was awesome also! Don't you just love Lito and all his interceptions against Dallas! Just finish this season off with 2 more wins and then rest yourself and come back next season with you feeling 100% and we will get to the playoffs and the Superbowl then!! You take care of yourself and know that we need you here. So sorry about all the media BS you have to put up with - keep your head up and try not to let them get to you!! The true fans are still behind you and are so very thankful for what you have done for our Eagles, and what you will continue to do for the team!! You are a great person on and off the field - don't ever lose that!! God Bless You!!

Sunday was Focused. How good did it feel to take that Dallas squad down a notch?
Thank You for this:

PERFECT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 1st class man & quaterback all the way!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Giving the man up stairs the glory, very nice!!!

Truth be told Donovan, there are a lot of vocal skeptics of you on here, and it aggravates me. It aggravates me because the negative mantra they all preach is just based on hatred. You have accomplished more in your career than 80-90% of quarterbacks that will enter the league 20 seasons from now, and 20 seasons prior, won't play in 4 straight Championship games. You have re-defined in many ways how the position is viewed, and looked at objectively. The fact is, that of all the black quarterbacks who have entered the league in the past 10 seasons, you have showed how to interchange run ability, and pocket-passing ability, with as much fluidity. The injuries you've battled through are remarkable.

So forget Pam Oliver. And forget Terrell Owens. And all of the stupid media plotters. The truth is you are an EAGLE for life. We know you aren't going anywhere. You have one of the most explosive running backs in NFL history right behind you peaking. You've got a defense with a stout front 7, mostly young I might note, and two shut-down corners. You've got a coaching staff and front office that you know so well (Trott hurt me too though). My point is the real fans back you. The real PHILADELPHIA EAGLE DIE-HARDS are with you ridin to the end. IN EAGLES GREEN.

Finish what you started. You owe it to yourself. You owe it to your fans.

We love you man. Thanks for a decade of memories, but more importantly, the ones still to come.

Peace>PreM

So

RIDE WITH US

And Sunday was great, even though my satellite dropped out on me and it screwed up my night. Getting the screen back for the last 8 minutes was perfect.

The Saints can't stop us, we're gonna be too explosive on Sunday.

finishing strong: the packers won their last 4 last year and are 12-2 this year. I see a correlation.

It's a shame that only a small percentage of negative "fans" can make you feel so down on yourself. Watching your press conference Sunday night was painful. You looked so sad. I know it's hard, and you're only human, but please don't listen to the nay-sayers. They are only a very small percentage. We want you in Philly and nowhere else. This city is tough on quarterbacks, but I don't condone what is being done to you now or what has been done to you in the past. You don't deserve it. Stay positive and keep working hard. I look forward to seeing you in an EAGLES uniform next season. And so do most Eagles fans. Just remember who the fans voted as the best Eagles quarterback of all time for the 75th anniversary. I just want to see you out there smiling again. - Regan Cameron, Penn State University

Focus on YOU ! and Making it thru the last game so you can handle your business and keep it moving. You already know Banner and the rest of them is Snakes! They tell you one thing and then they do the next , they told the same thing to TROTTER He did EVERYTHING they asked him to do and they STILL CUT HIM !!
We already KNOW how the Eagles front office get down !

The game Sunday was great. We came to the big D and JJ and his defense handed their butts on a platter. The offense looked great and you are looking better every game. You had some great runs and I love the touchdown throw to Reggie Brown and afterwards raising your hands in the air praising the man upstairs. I'm sure He has lead you though the season. Just like you said on your blog we need to start focusing in on finishing the season strong and build something for next year. As Andy saids, "We need to take it at a one game at a time approach".

As for the whole press thing, LET IT GO BRO!!!! The media and those small group of folks out there giving you heck don't know anything. The McHaters are just a bunch of repetitive complainers. These are the same fans that will turn on the team and boo the team with a couple of mistakes in a game. As for the media, more of them are a evil breed of drama hungry misfits. You week after week do your press conferences and do it professionally. You have alot more class then I would!!! Keep your head up Bro and keep doing your thing and in the end all the McNabb lovers can say "We Told You So!!!". E-A-G-L-E-S, Eagles!!!

See you in a Chicago uniform next year!

it sucked to see you down at the press conf. youre always so positive. i guess you can only take so much. please know that there are so many of us that love you & want you here for the long run.

great job against D & TO. just beating them helps us get through to next season. our boys looked great - minimal mistakes. good luck sunday! go birds!!!

Donovan you did a great job this season. No, it wasn't excellent;however, I know in my heart you gave you all each time you stepped on the field and in my humble opinion that is all that is required to do you best. I am so proud that I am able to say that I am a Donovan fan and the he is my QB. God Bless you and your family and have a wonderful Holiday Season.

E.A.G.L.E.S EAGLES!

WHAT ABOUT PAM OLIVER

Please stay DMac!!!

Donovan,
Why are you talking about next year? According to you, you won't be back next season.

Pam Oliver has said that you lied about your conversation with her. Don't you have anything to say? How can you do that to an African-American woman? You basically called her a liar. Why would she make that up about you?

You're too sensitive. The Eagles will trade you in the off-season. Minnesota, Chicago, maybe Baltimore. You will have a chance to be a winner in another city. You certainly have not been a winner in your last 26 games as the Eagles' QB. Your record is 11-15 in your last 26 games.

Come Clean McNabb. Be a man and take responsibility for your words.

http://www.igglesblog.com/iggles_blog/2007/12/this-pam-oliver.html

Take a look at GEtusJUST1's first post, and take that to heart. The REAL fans know that without you, we're done. Look at the 75th anniversary team. The best quarterback in Eagles history. Damn skippy you are. Don't sweat the haters; most are just closet Cowboys fans anyway. And they all know that YOU OWN THEM. Keep your head high, you've got nothing to be ashamed of.

And hey, you're still one of my 4 year olds "best friends". According to him, you come by the house quite often, of course with Westbrook, Lewis, Dawkins and Akers! Stay strong. Peace

So how does it feel knowing that next year you will help the BEARS to the playoffs? Go 'Cuse!

Nice Win McNabb but don't leave the EAGLES we like you to much. At least stay as a backup if you have to.

Mcnabb , just promise us all that you will be back and do whatever you can do to so ..Thnaks for spanking the Cowboys .That's all I wanted this year frome Eagles after realizing Playoffs were most likely not going to happen .. Roy williams is a cheap Bastard and luckily he did not grab your ankle like he was or else you would have definitly broken it .... Im glad you are getting better and that showed with the Run you had in te second half .. Stay positive and remmeber us loyals Eagles fans would love a Superbowl win especially with you at the Helm ..Happpy Holidays ..

I really don't understand our personel Donovan, your one of the best qb's in the league.yeah you've had some injuries, but in order for a team who throws the ball 70-75% of the game i feel that we should have a better receiving corp.i'm not on here to talk bad about anyone on the team, but lets look at something. we were a successful team with todd pinkston and james thrash.we add T.O to the picture and we're in the Bowl.It almost seems like Andy wants to prove that he can win with no. 2 and 3 receivers playing 1 and 2. then you get the whole city getting on you cause we don't have a receiver who can get seperation from any good corners in the league. but i think that their will be a lot of changes during the off season, hopefully the right people leave and the right people stay. I want to see you in philly next year No.5,but if you were to leave you'd probably win a super bowl cause where ever you go will probably put receivers around you. Oh yah my mom sees you at church from time to time she just said shake them haters off and play your game.. aight man have a safe and happy holiday.

First, let me say I'm a huge McNabb fan. The Eagles without McNabb is something I never want to see, not until 5 decides to retire. That being said, I'm incredibly disappointed in you, Donovan. There is this report on Fox that you feel you're done with the Eagles, you basically call Pam Oliver a liar in your postgame press conference, she calls you a liar the next day, and then you get on here and don't mention it? I thought this was your connection to the fans, your chance to address us personally without anyone twisting your words? Well, so far this year, this is the biggest word-twisting you've had. How do you ignore this issue?

As one of your biggest fans I hope to see you back in Philly next year, but if not I'll be cheering for whatever team you go to - you are a class act. Know that there are a ton of us out here on your side and supporting you regardless of what the media chooses to print. You're the best!!! Good luck vs. NO this week!

why does the fact that pam oliver is a african american or a woman have anything to do with the fact that donovan disagrees with her report? dont bring her race or gender into it like she should be treated any different than any other reputable reporter. thats insulting. im sure donovan doesnt look at her as a black woman, rather as a reporter doing her job. maybe you should take a hard look at why you think that way.

Mr. McNabb,
I have appreciated and admired you since the day you were drafted; I have also been a real Eagles fan for my entire life. Unfortunately, it seems like the people who are negative, even hateful, tend to be the loudest as well...and more unfortunately they seem to be the continuing national face of "Eagles fans". I truly hope you continue your extraordinary career in Philadelphia but, if for some reason that doesn't happen, I will always cheer you on.
Here's hoping you and your family have a happy and healthy holiday.

I hope your back myself Donny, the FO would be ignorant to do anything other than bringing you back and adding to your arsenal.

You had some fantastic clutch throws on Sunday and it was great to see you getting out of the pocket and stretching those legs. And only because it's clear you're feeling more like yourself again. Rehabing that knee has, no doubt, been difficult and this season hasn't made it any easier. Still, beating the Cowboys has to take a little of that sting away.

"Far better is it to dare mighty things, to win glorious triumphs, even though checked by failure at times than to rank with those poor spirits who neither enjoy much nor suffer much, because they live in a gray twilight that knows not victory nor defeat."

Don't let the haters get to you. Finish strong and get yourself straight with the Eagles FO, we can put it together this offseason.

Crush the Saints!

D-Mac,
I hope you know that there are fans in the Philadelphia area that support you. I know you hear a lot of these so called fans that do nothing but bash you. How quickly have they forgot what you have done for this team and city the last couple years. I am 27 years old and have two stepsons that I hope will grow up with the class that you have shown since the first day you were drafted by the Eagles. You are one athlete that I would encourage them to use as a role model. I just want you to know that there are a lot more supporters for you that want you to finish your career with the Eagles than there are haters. Looking forward to next year when you are the MVP of the NFL.

Don,
Keep plugging. Let's put up some big numbers against New Orleans and Buffalo, earn two W's and head into 2008 with positive energy. Add a few pieces and we'll compete for a ring next year. Don't stop believing, keep working hard and good things will happen. Finish the job you were brought here to do!!

Good Luck in Chi-town bud. It has been one hell of a ride but its not working here anymore. Way to much drama, way to much he said she said. Gotta stop listening to the media and reading the papers and focus on football. Philly may be a tough place to play but you are not helping yourself by letting all of this scrutiny affect the way you play. I can only hope you look toward the future and let us remember the glory years for this team, as that was whats seems like a long time ago.

Don,
I dont know how much you read these but I want you to know how much you are truly appreciated and respected in this town. You are not only an all pro but a class act as well. It is your character that has enabled you to withstand all of the horrible negativity. There has always been the haters since the very beginning, however there has been so many people like myself sticking up for you all along. I do believe we do out number them. So this is a call to the "silent majority" to stand up and start talking. Educate our fellow fans who may not know the game as much as we do. Call in to 610, write to the daily spews, and do whatever you have to do to get the message out. We are behind 5 no matter what! Im making t-shirts that read "Team 5". Lets get with it!

Mcnabb, Your still a champion in my eyes. I simply like how you dont always focus things on you, but you focus things on your rookie players. Im hoping to god that you stay with the eagles, your are truly a great person, and you do not deserve all this contrevarsy thats going on. So please stay with the eagles, hopefullly you will get new weapons next season, a good receiver you can use, and hopefully you will be 100% healthy when u come back. So please stay with the eagles, and keep doing what you do best which is staying positive and simply just having fun.
GO EAGLES GO!!

Don, i pray that you stay with the eagles, we need you so bad, and your the best QB this team has ever seen, true eagles fans know what you've done and know you still have it in you.

Going into the end of the season, give it your all. Stay strong.

Donovan: Great win on the rival Cowboys on Sunday. I did not get to watch the game :( But I did hear about it. You are still a winner in my eyes. Get a win for the next two games. For 2008, think of it as a new beginning.

Don,
You are a class act and I hope with everything that you are in an Eagles uniform next year. Andy was right on Sunday. 90% support you and the other 10% are the ones who get all the airtime because contorversy sells. You are the man!

I'm glad to hear you are going to be back next season for the EAGLES! I know it is going to be a great season and your playing means a lot to the fans. I can't wait till 08 man, make us proud! I loved watching you beat Dallas last weekend!

Donovan, thank you for being the amazing player, but more importantly, the amazing person that you are. I'm 35, and have been an Eagles fan for a long time. You're the best QB this city has ever seen. You've put up with a lot of junk and negativity, which you don't deserve. You've handled it all like a true gentleman. I don't know your heart man, whether you truly want to be here or not. Whatever happens in the off season, please know that you are supported by the masses. As much as I like 610, the negativity that station perpetuates drives me crazy.

Thanks for everything man. I'll be forever a fan, wherever you are.

Donovan please dont listen to the media and the haters. You are one of the best QBs in the NFL. Besides Tom brady and Peyton manning who else in resent times has gone to more championship games than you.I'm perty shure that you are #1 in pass to INT.% of all time, anyone who thinks you should'nt stay dont understand what it's like to have the injury you are just over a year from recieving. It's hard to readjust your body ,and it takes time to get back to normal. You look better each week. Just because they drafted kevin kolb dose'nt mean your out and he's in,but I dont know why the media wont just leave it alone.Oh yea there greedy snakes that just want a story to write about.I'm shure it wears on you when all they ask about is something Pam oliver [gets the impression about]and now she calls you a liar.Your quote was what you've been saying all season. She just spun it in a way to make a story out of an old and repeated answer. You said the same thing on daily news live about 2 months before the season even started,I have never doubted you and I'm shure I'm not the only one.Radio and Tv. hosts just keep throwing fuel on the fire for the loud mouths that unfortiunatley are herd more than your suporters.I sincerly hope you havent been driven out buy the constant disrespect.Finish out the last two games strong and look forward to next season. Maby next year they'll get you a great wide reciever +a healthy tight end so people cant wrongfully complain about your abilities. Have a great holiday season

Hey Donovan,
I can't say I worship the ground that you walk on like most of the rest of the people on the board. I think that your a human being with the same faults as the rest of us. I also have enough football IQ to realize that this has not been your greatest season.
But, I think this year more then any other has impressed me more than other about the character that you show in the face of a ton of criticism. You are a class act. Good luck in the last two games. I know you have the talent to take this team to the next level.
And my take on the entire talk is that it shows that people care. The opposite of love is not hate but apathy. People only get passionately bitter when they have high expectations that are not fulfilled and for you they have the highest expectations.

Donovan, Please COME BACK NEXT SEASON!!! WE'RE LOST WITHOUT YOU!!!!

Donovan, this season was a rough one, hang in there though, you and Westbrook make a dynamic offense like no other, if philly can give you another legit target downfield, your offense will rival the Colts and the Pats. I'm no eagles fan but I would like to see you stay there and try and make the eagles as great as a franchise as it could be. You are the Reggie Miller to Phili, so good luck in the next couple weeks and good luck next year, hope to see you wearing green.

Hey, Donovan, I am a mom with a son who is about your age. And, like most mom's I give him advise.....whether he wants it or not!! I feel that you are like a son to me and in that vein, I offer the smae adive I have given my own son on many an occassion:
KEEP YOUR EYES AND EARS OPEN AND KEEP YOUR MOUTH SHUT. WHAT OTHERS SAY OR DO WILL BE OVERSHADOWED BY YOUR ACTIONS........NOT YOUR WORDS. LIVE RIGHT, RESPECT OTHERS AND MOST OF ALL, RESPECT YOURSELF.
