You thought dogfighting was a black eye for the NFL? Just wait until the latest scandal picks up steam; one that actually affected real humans, and real money. Roger Goodell is going to regret his bloodless coup that deposed Generalissimo Tagliabue.I am, of course, talking about that abortion of ...

  • That wasn't an illegal forward pass on Philip Rivers' part, it was actually an incomplete pass which should have whistled dead anyways.
  • It just goes to show who the refs are getting paid by!!!
  • the refs are crap! and a lot of them do get paid from throwing games- and some are stiil placeing bets,it's really starting to show.
  • I always knew they were paid by some one other then the league. I mean look at some of the obvious bad calls they make, or when they overturn calls that are in no way to be overturned. It's pathetic.
  • They are always making bad calls. Some of them are betting on the Colts whenever the Patriots are rolling into Lucas Oil Stadium
  • Fans need to carry paint ball guns!
  • I've said it before and I'll say it again. Once a team is mathimatically eliminated from the playoffs, they should just play games to tackle the entire officiating staff. They've always pissed me off it's time to get even!!!!
  • in tht case wouldnt wanna be a ref at a lions game your gonna get killed.

Troy Polamalu's amazing interception

Lost in all of the hoopla surrounding the end of the Chargers-Steelers game was an interception that Troy Polamalu made in the first half. This was absolutely amazing and I still don't know how he got his fingers under the ball enough to snatch it out of the air:Catch of the year!

Rule Explanation in Steelers-Chargers Game

National Football League Blogcast, NFL BlogcastHere's the rule explanation for the end of yesterday's Steelers-Chargers game I received from the NFL this afternoon. It didn't make any difference in the outcome, just the final score. And in case you don't already know, this occurred during a ...

Referee admits he blew the final play in the Steelers-Chargers game

Following the Steelers' 11-10 win over the Chargers on Sunday, officials admitted that they blew a call off an illegal forward pass that resulted in Troy Polamalu's touchdown being yanked off the scoreboard. Pittsburgh still won the game regardless, but had the touchdown stood, the Steelers ...

Non-Issue of the Week: The TD That Never Happened

ESPN and the blogs are really pushing the controversy over that never-happened touchdown at the end of the Steelers-Chargers game. In case you missed it and the video above doesn't work for some reason: Troy Polamalu breaks up a series of last-ditch desperation laterals by the trailing ...

Refs Say Sorry to Steelers Over Last Play Call Mess Up

As was expected, the refs are saying "sorry" for the mistake at the end of yesterday's Steelers 11-10 win over the Chargers. The apology was for the error at the end of the game, where the refs should have allowed the Steelers TD on the last play of the game when the ball was knocked away on a ...

Life itself is enough of gamble!

The tinfoil hatters will love this, while the recreational gamblers surely noticed. That Steelers-Chargers game Sunday, that ended with the unlikely score of 11-10? The referee admitted he blew the call and that the Steelers should have received credit for a touchdown Troy Polamalu scored on the ...

The First 11-10 Final in NFL History (Sort Of)

Troy Polamalu nearly ruined it for all of us. The Pittsburgh Steelers led the San Diego Chargers by the utterly improbable score of 11-10, thanks to a safety and three Jeff Reed field goals, including a 32-yarder with 15 seconds left. In the entire history of the National Football League, not one game had ever had [...]

PIT-SD Ref Pisses Off Gamblers, Fantasy Players Alike

While it wasn't an Ed Hochuli, game-altering blunder, head referee Scott Green has admitted to blowing the call on Sunday's final play between the Pittsburgh Steelers and the San Diego Chargers.

Speed Read: Donovan McNabb Gets Tongue-Tied

If you didn't know by now, the NFL has a state-of-the-art website with lots of features, not excluding a standings page. Right there on the left we have a 'W,' 'L,' and 'T.' There they are. Win, loss, and tie. Donovan McNabb doesn't need the NFL.com website to see what's going on in the ...

This Just In: Polamalu is Amazing

The defense didn't play a perfect game yesterday, but between Troy Polamalu and James Harrison alone, they came up with a season's worth of huge plays. And, hey, at least that unit didn't get reamed by Brandon Jacobs the way the Ravens did.

Vote Bernard Pollard for 2008 AFC Strong Safety

When you're filling out your ballot this year for the NFL Pro Bowl, just remember this 1 thing, only one Strong Safety in the NFL had the biggest impact on your teams chances to win the Super Bowl. Not Bob Sanders if you are a Colts fan. Not even Troy Polamalu if you are a Steelers fan. No, the man with the greatest impact is of course our National Hero Bernard Pollard. So...

Vegas must have decided the end of Steelers/Chargers game

I'm not one for conspiracy theories but what transpired at the end of the Chargers-Steelers game had to be a total fix by none other than Vegas itself. With only seconds remaining in the game and Pittsburgh up 11-10, San Diego took over deep in their own territory hoping for one last miracle. ...

Who Does God Hate More? Cleveland or Buffalo?

We now have our answer as Ryan Lindell's field goal sailed wide right from 47 yards out. And now I morally obligated to make an Ace Ventura reference. Let's go with "Laces out DAN!"At least the Browns have those NFL championships from before the merger to fall back on, all Buffalo has are ...

End of Chargers-Steelers game a black eye for NFL

Forget for a moment that gambling even exists. Take it out of the equation and focus on the reality of what transpired at the end of the Chargers-Steelers game, because it was a serious black eye for the National Football League.By now, most of us know what happened, but I'll set the scene again ...

One for the History Books

You have to give the Chargers credit. Even when they lose -- which is often -- they manage to do something that's never been done.In the 12,837-game history of the National Football League, there had never been a game that ended with a score of 11-10 -- until Sunday. The Bolts and Steelers slugged it out in a defensive battle on a cold, snowy evening in Pittsburgh, and Jeff Reed...
