Five Teams to Watch in the NFC for 2008

For the past few years, there has been little doubt with conference in the NFL was superior. The AFC's most consistently elite teams are the Patriots, Colts, and Chargers--while the NFC boasts the Eagles, Seahawks, and Panthers. Of those three NFC teams, only one made the playoffs last year. Ouch.!!!!

However, the Giants' Super Bowl win over the Patriots in February has brought a sudden legitimacy to the NFC. Not since the Buccaneers' elite defensive squad of 2002 has the team that hoisted the George Halas Trophy also won the Lombardi Trophy in the same season. With that in mind, here are five teams to watch in the NFC:

The Eagles selected Jackson with the 49th overall pick in the draft last month. His electrifying speed as a punt returner and as a receiver has fans in Philly buzzing....

Our team has consistently been on the NFC "watch" for almost the past decade. Pretty good track record if I do say so myself. Unfortunately everyone else in the conference has caught up to the Eagles and the AFC has surpassed the NFC in terms of "team talent". It's strange to see the AFC rule the NFL as it did back in the 70's (Steelers) when it's been dominated so long by the NFC (Niners/Cowboys). But maybe with the more recent SB win by the Giants, the NFC will once again assert it's dominance (led by the Eagles of course) :)

I totally agree with the post. These 5 teams will be in a league of their own in the NFC. And solid competition for the AFC's elite.

This is what the NFC should be looking out for. :)

in nfl tour, they took that move and made it a regular tackle

Weapon X - da man.

nice vid ;0 !!!!!!!

Nice Post..The one thing i dont agree with is that PHilly fans are raving about desean Jackson..We like him n think he's a threat but we dont put him up to a level of like a steve smith as a reciever....Should be exciting in the return game though....

yeah, they made us sound like we worship this guy. he's great and all, but a far shot from the guys we were trying to land like Moss, Fits, Williams, and Chad. over time though he may develope like Steve Smith.

which in itself is a great thing anyway.

Carolina Panthers? Consistently elite? When did that happen? They've had three playoff appearances in their 13 year existence.

I'm looking at that list and not one of those teams scare me. If I'm in the AFC I'd still feel fairly confident. I'm not saying they're not good, but the AFC elite would CRUSH them.

maybe, although NFC has the superbowl and the probowl as of now.
