Forget Fitzgerald

Shoeman's Blog:
It's not happening.
A league source said Saturday night that the Eagles have talked to the Cardinals about Fitzgerald, but the discussions have never gone beyond an inquiry as to whether Arizona planned to trade its star wide receiver. The answer has always been the same - absolutely not.
The league source said that even if the Cardinals had a desire to deal Fitzgerald, ridding themselves of the frustrating negotiations and his huge salary-cap number, the urgency is gone now. The source noted that the best free agents are off the market and that freeing up salary-cap space won't help the Cardinals a bit for the 2008 season. If the Cards were going to deal this guy, it would have already happened. What good does cap space do them now? They've signed a few free agents, they've kept some of their own guys, and some of their guy have left. They still have money to pay rookies... There's just no need to trade Fitzgerald now. Now if they don't get an extension done this year, next year is when they'll need to trade him or face the prospect of having him walk for nothing.
reports of that ridiculous trade proposal of Lito Sheppard and Reggie Brown never happened.

I have a SOURCE,a magic 8-ball,or a blurb on ESPN NEWS",a GCobb crony sighting,or maybe a "blog.deleware-online" article that disputes everything Banner and the Eagles have said.
2008 salary cap is approximately $116 Million
Arizona Cardinals $14,490,000 -- under cap

So over at "The world leader" you can pay $39.95 a year to read articles on their website by being an "ESPN Insider." Of course, the majority of the news in these articles is discussed on the actual channel which you probably already have... but at least it's their content. What I saw today blew my mind.
In their "Rumor Central" section you can find this headline, "Eagles eyeing Fitzgerald"
But oh no! You have to be an ESPN Insider to view it! Luckily... I happen to know an Insider.

Eagles eyeing Fitzgerald
Larry Fitzgerald | Cardinals
After losing out on free agents Randy Moss and Javon Walker, the Eagles will turn to Cardinals wideout Larry Fitzgerald, The (Wilmington, Del.) News Journal reported.
According to reports, despite the pursuit of Fitzgerald, the two-time Pro Bowler may be closer to staying in Arizona than exploring free agency. Roy Williams and Torry Holt are likely candidates if the Eagles don't land Fitzgerald.
You read it correctly. ESPN is asking you to pay for content they've recycled from other news sources that give it away for FREE! Here is the link to the FREE article on The News Journal
Tsk Tsk...

Joe Banner himself says it ...
2.And also, ESPN reported that ARizona only has 51 players so far and 16 on Defense and they cant even line up to play a real game right now.......SO how in the fuck do they have no reason to realieve there salaray cap this year? it would be impossible for the cardinals to complete a full season if they hyold onto fitz

I am telling you this,because it's true.
EVERYONE in football.says it didn't happen including the Cradinals and Eagles.

WHAT A DIFFERENCE A DAY MAKES

On Friday, we were golden in the eyes of Eagles web guy Dave Spadaro:
"I just checked out ProFootballTalk.com (which I do about 20 times an hour, anyway) and the suggestion is that the Eagles are chasing linebacker/defensive end Chris Clemons from Oakland and that, in a separate iitem [sic], the team is considering moving Sheldon Brown to safety. I've looked up Clemons, I've talked to people about Clemons and he is said to be a speed-rushing end who could be a huge boost off the edge for this team. We shall see if, in fact, that rumor is true."
But now that we've pointed out the curious dichotomy between the presence of Asante Samuel and the absence of Takeo Spikes from the on-line depth chart, Spadaro regards us much differently:
"Now it's completely absurd. ProFootballTalk.com is 'speculating' that because the depth chart on this web site, the UNOFFICIAL DEPTH CHART, did not contain Takeo Spikes, that means Spikes could be on the way out. OK, so this is dumb. Spikes was on Injured Reserve at the end of the season and hasn't been added back to the depth chart, which really hasn't been updated all that much.
"Hey, there is no Sean Considine on the depth chart. Kimo von Oelhoffen is an unrestricted free agent, yet he is on the depth chart. Here is the upshot: We are likely to disable the depth chart because of stupid speculation like this. It just is not worth this kind of nonsense."
Ooooooo. The Eagles might "disable the depth chart" in retaliation for the fact that people assume that it was prepared by someone who didn't have his own head buried in his own ass.
Dave, if the information isn't accurate, it should be disabled. Otherwise, inaccurate information posted on the depth chart will prompt speculation. So instead of chastising the fans and the readers (i.e., the Eagles' customers) for not being smart enough to engage in mind reading, maybe the folks responsible for the web site should be smart enough to ensure that it reflects correct information about relatively significant matters like, you know, who is and isn't on the team.
Here is ANOTHER interview ...
Joe Banner Interview With Derrick Gunn Part 2
I am not saying that any offers have been made. I am just saying that it seems like something is happening in the background. And I am going by facts. Spikes was cut, the Eagles made a play for Moss, sheppard was unhappy with his contract, rolle was moved to saftey and Bryant Johnson has not been signed by anyone yet. These are all facts, no assumptions, no website traffic bullshit, facts. You need to loosen your panties up a bit and relax, and in your typing frenzy your fat fingers are hitting the caps lock key, you may want to watch out for that.
here is the link: http://www.redlasso.com/ClipPlayer.aspx?id=01b56cdc-8473-4d03-b16b-217dcf974c60
but if you put you mouse on the clip, while its playing ..it brings up all the clips.
Joe Banner Interview Comcast Part2
All the eagles moves are talked about ...Banner admits to moss, etc.
and you are right ..I am typing too much.
but I hate liars. plain and simple.
just because 1 BLOG starts a rumor, then someone here reads and posts the link to that BLOG..they think its a fact.
Look ...I would LOVE for the Eagles to get any and every great player available.
but I also have to believe everyone in-the-know that says "it isn't happening".
we weren't built on false hope.
anyway ..check-out the videos of,reid and banner ...they are telling the truth.
but everyone is right ...I just give-up.
but I will leave you with the thoughts of others are:
Oh internet rumor sites... what would we do without you?

Yardbarker, the site made famous by Donovan McNabb's blog, is quickly becoming my new favorite rumor site.
Not because any of it is true, but because it is becoming quite possibly the finest collection of complete and total nonsense on the entire internet. I honestly don't say that in an angry way either, it's fantastic in it's insanity.
Check out the NFL section of the site, it's been over run by Eagles fans posting jokes or outright lies.
For those that don't know, Yardbarker is a site where fans can submit articles they find around the net or just post their own... Including this guy, who I think is clearly a well connected NFL insider.
Roy Wlilliams get trade for lito
The lion will recive Lito shepard and 2 round pick for roy williams and their 3 stringer CB.
Yardbarker is a fine idea, and I like that they try to use it to promote blogs and what not... but could they maybe hire an admin over there? They're obviously spending money hiring all these pro athletes to do real blogs on the site, but how are they ever supposed to be taken seriously when stuff like this & this are on the front of your NFL page?
Actually I take that back, I hope they don't hire an admin. It's too much fun without one.
and for the self-proclaimed "
The ONLY EAGLE FAN IN TEXAS REPRESENTIN THE GREEN IN THE HEART OF OUR ENEMY"
I'll leave the link ... poopy in his pants smells.
http://www.bleedinggreennation.com/
the reason we havent been using him on returns is bc he can barely stay healthy as just a corner so the eagles didnt wanna risk further injury by making him do something else that involves contact. and if he gets hurt big deal, at least we have a return threat and we'll have what we'd be left with if we had traded him anyway...just a thought
