DottingtheI:
DeVoe Torrence probably envisioned himself breaking tackles and scoring touchdowns against Wisconsin this upcoming season. Although he will be able to do that, it just won't be on a primetime night game in Madison on October 4, when Ohio State faces the Badgers. Instead, Torrence will be suiting up for the Akron Zips on August 30 against the Badgers in Camp Randall Stadium.
The former Buckeye commit, Torrence has been put on scholarship by Akron, after recently being found not guilty on charges of having sex with underage girls, along with a bunch of his fellow students at Massillon Washington High School. Jim Tressel's staff took his scholarship off the table when charges were brought against Torrence earlier in the year.
DeVoe, the younger brother of OSU receiver/defensive back Devon Torrence, was a 4-star recruit, and may be the most talented recruit to ever play for the Zips. Of course Jason Taylor is the most successful NFL player from the school, and DeVoe is hoping he can follow in a similar path. Torrence joined the team on August 3, when camp opened and should compete for immediate playing time.

Parcells, “Definitely”…staying?
It’s really hard to look at Bill Parcells and call him a liar. Mainly because he scares the hell out of you, but also because frankly, you just never can tell if he is. Take for example last years off-season romance of Parcells and then DE Jason Taylor. Parcells was very adamant that he would ...

Jason Taylor defends Nick Saban
The Dolphins are a mess and while various beat reporters are calling for Saban's head, Jason Taylor is asking everyone to be patient. ""I know when the stock goes down at Microsoft I don't call Bill Gates and say impeach him." I wonder if Taylor's comments echo those of his teammates as well or if he's speaking alone.
Tampa to take a long look at Taylor
One of the biggest needs for the Buccaneers entering the free agency period was a quality pass rusher or two. Turns out, one just may have fallen into their lap.

Zach Thomas Visiting Pats - Belichick's Love Affair with Old Linebackers Continues
What is it with Belichick and old middle linebackers? We're supposed to get younger, not older and more fragile!
My quick thoughts if this was to happen is that it might not be a good fit and that I'd much prefer Jason Taylor join us to play OLB. Thomas has always played 4-3, he's coming off a year where he only played in 5 games and, oh yeah -- he's 34!
Come...

Hall, Haynesworth define risk/reward
It's not even breakfast time on the first day of NFL free agency and Daniel Snyder has spent $154 million. Not bad for a guy with no money.By retaining cornerback DeAngelo Hall for six years at a cost of $54 million and by purchasing the services of defensive tackle Albert Haynesworth for seven years for a cool $100 million, the Washington Redskins have become a better team literally...
