Freakin iggles....

Well, it has been quite a while since my last post and no I didn't stop posting cause the Eagles have been quite frankly one of the worst teams in the league. I just haven't had Internet access in my new place until a couple days ago. But enough of the chitchat, here's what has been on my mind, or as Jim Rome would say..."Here's what I'm burning on."

As long as I could remember my entire family have been Philadelphia Eagles fans. Born and raised in the city of brotherly love the whole lot of us. But this Eagles team is making hard for us to admit being Birds fans proudly. Not because they're losing. Like I said we're from Philadelphia, we can handle losing. After all we have seen enough losing in our time.

It is not the fact that they're one of the worst teams in the league this year, it is the way that they're losing that bothers the hell out of me. It seems like they simply just have no heart. Now I understand that Donovan McNabb is coming back from an injury. And everyone says it takes a year to recover from that ACL injury. But last week against the Lions he threw up numbers that Peyton Manning wish he could achieve. Then a week later he can't find the end zone to save his life.

Their offensive line who last year was tops in the league seemed to be falling over like a card castle as the slightest wind blew in their direction on Sunday night. The Giants had 12 sacks on Donovan McNabb, no one allows that many sacks in the NFL anymore. Davis Carr and Drew Bledsoe think it is messed up that McNabb had to be sacked that many times.

And don't tell me that Brian Westbrook not being there had anything to do with it. And that if he were there they'd do better. Sure maybe he could have helped a little bit, but losing to the Giants, who had like the worst defense in the league until that point is sad. Winston Justice couldn't block a little league defensive linemen. Let alone Usi Umenyiora. You learn a little something Winston, in Philadelphia you can lose once in a while just don't lose like to the Giants or the Cowboys.

I don't only blame it on the offensive line and Winston Justice I blame it on the coach. Now I know that Andy Reid is going through a lot with his family issues. And I want to be sympathetic and understanding to what the coach is going through but not at the expense of my team. Now Andy has done a lot for us here in Philadelphia so don't get me wrong, I do appreciate the fat man. But if you can't handle it Andy, let it go. This way we can pick up one of the good coaches that are still out there.

Luckily for us Philadelphia sports Phans out there the Phillies took the NL east division this week. So the week wasn't an entire let down. Who'd of thought last year or even last month that the Phillies would be the NL east champions and the Eagles would start the season 1-3? So now in our hour of Eagle darkness we can look towards the Phillies to provide the light.

i could not believe what i was seeing sunday night . andy has done a lot for us but our quarterback was left hung out to dry..

It was like the coach did not care about donovan's well being. No adjustments at all to keep him upright. Andy Reid needs to get his head out of his ass and realize he's on a sinking ship here.

... A tight end to block perhaps? It was like the 6-10 season all over again. The only reason why the Eagles won the time of possession battle was because of the 12 sacks given up. The running game has to be a consistent part of the game plan in order to have success, when it is there the receivers can get open and make plays. No need to dwell on what went wrong, the week is going to be long enough because of the bye anyway. I'll say this though, Reid usually has the team prepared after the break. The bye would have been more valuable this past week sure, but now is the time to get it turned around. Get healthy, stay healthy, and most important stay balanced to at least put a clamp on the penalties though by now he needs to realize it also helps keep the pressure off the quarterback.

I think this article says it all. I do hope though that after the bye everyone is heathy, focused and ready to play some football. I do think the eagles will come out of this hole they have dug theirselves. I have faith. Hopefully they want allow that many sacks again for the rest of the season and more to come. If they want it bad enough they will do it. All we can do is be here for them as fans but they have to want it. I know I WANT IT. Besides someone has to put Romo and dallas on their ass, let that be us.

I love your faith in our team. If only the Eagles had the heart of fans like your Ladybug26 then we would be undefeated.

Im not gointg to defend the eagles and say they played good or even mediocre. But you blame Andy Reid and westbrook for the loss? Completely ignoring his family issues, hes one of the winniest coaches in the league since he took over, and if youre gonna blame him, can u at least say why?? You provided no reason for you blaming him, just said "its the coaches fault!"

Furthermore, having westbrook in the game would've made a difference, not a slight difference, not a little difference; it would've made a huuuuge difference! He's our leading reciever and rusher. He's McNabbs go to guy when our receivers are covered, which they usually are. And the NY defense would've keyed on him, relieving some of pass rush.

You did say one educated thing though; it was the Winston Justice's fault. I'll agree with that. It seems with William Thomas starting, Justice doesn't train like a starter, because he certainly didn't perform like one.

Lastly, you went as far as to blame McNabb. Are you an idiot? The guy had .2 seconds before the pocket collapsed every single down. He made some nice throws, and with an intense pass rush and completely covered receivers routinely, he didn't throw any interceptions to give the game away. He was patient and that was what we needed.

You say you're a die hard eagles fan. What kind of fan is embarrassed to admit they are an Eagles fan?!?! What kind of fan are you?? Oh wait, theres a term for people like you, its called fair weathered fan. So instead of pointing fingers and blaming everyone who isnt deserving of blame, why don't you suck it up root for your team, win or lose. They're in a tough spot and need your support now more than ever. But no, instead you just get pissed off and become "embarrassed to be an eagles fan."

First things first, I am an huge eagles fan. And I am entitled to my opinion. And like I stated before about Andy he's done a lot for this team, but the blame has to go onto his shoulders. After all he is the head Coach. I mean you seen this team in those three losses. I don't think I am alone in saying that they played with no heart what so ever. And that is up to the Coach to address. And if you read my article you'd see that I didn't blame Westbrook at all. I said I don't want to hear if westbrook was there it would be different. Cause that is what a lot of fans are saying. I never blamed B-West not once for any loss. But like I said and even Brain Dawkins said it, this team is playing with a lack of urgency - Translation; playing with no heart. And yes I am a die-hard eagle fan. Which means I won't jump off this team when it is losing. I've been an Eagles fan from birth. I am still backing this team through thick and thin. But I am entitled to my opinion. And I don't care how many wins this guy has given us in the past, he has to address the lack of effort on this team now, that is his job. So you asked for it and I'm telling you. Why am I blaming Andy for these loses? Cause he's not addressing the lack of urgency on this team. And I'd say after losing three loses, two to divisional opponents. I'd say andy has a lot to address.

HA 10-4 roger that, this was perfect!
