GCobb.com: Eagles Closing in on Roy Williams

Here we go again. Just when we thought all the talk of the Eagles getting a top flight receiver was dead, GCobb.com has started things up again. Cobb is reporting that Mike Quick, an analyst for Eagles games, believes that there will be news on a new team for Lions receiver Roy Williams by the end of this week. Three NFC East teams are believed to be bidding on the former Pro Bowler: the Eagles, Redskins and Cowboys. Cobb believes this move will happen soon as the Lions are lowering their asking price.

So, what do we make of this latest rumor from GCobb? He has actually been right more times than not this off-season as he correctly called the Eagles signing Asante Samuel and he was one of the first to report on the Eagles interest in Randy Moss. This current story may have some validity since it was reported about a month ago that the Lions might be looking to get rid of Roy Williams.

	i dont understand why all you do is say negative things seriously....who cares? its not like their is a limit on yardbarker and it will shut down if too many posts go up involving the same material...its a free site if your a member you can do whatever you want, just because the eagles are rumored by many sources to be making moves for a WR and you look dumb doesnt mean you have to be angry...just retire from the yard for making too many dumb comments about how there is no way they are even thinking about getting a WR in the draft or a trade or ANYTHING

	Thanks for the back-up guys, although this story was soundly refuted by Mike Quick, you have to believe the Birds would be interested. It's not like I took this story as fact

	is he the better talent, hands down? He does have carson palmer throwng him the rock... as well as a consistant back n the backfield... oh yeah and that other guy across th field that also made the pro bowl.... all of these weapons help make chad better. on the other hand Roy Will has... John Kitna... TJ Ducket? and rookie on the other side of the field. Put roy in the right system andwatch his numbers sky rocket...

	Mike Quick is a moron. There is no validity to this bogus rumor. When has Quick ever broke a story? GCobb's website sucks. There is no way that the Eagles will get Roy Williams.

	well as we can see the coach of the lions said no trade as well as millen.... the next probable is Chad an they said that was to no avail( read one of the blogs that talks about lions refuse offer of williams) than Anquan boldin...... 	Go to Ferkid's article entitled "Breaking News". Somewhere on there is a link to a story out of Detroit addressing GKnob's rumor.Basically, it states that Roy Williams WILL NOT BE TRADED regardless of any stirring in the Eagle's camp.
