Do you get the feeling that there’s a big game going on at Giants Stadium today?
Must be because there’s “a sense of urgency” (Justin Tuck) for this “Super Bowl” (Antonio Pierce) of a game, which is really a “one-game season” (Tom Coughlin).
Talk about putting all your eggs in one basket (sorry, I was running out of cliches that hadn’t been used yet).
But there’s a good reason. There are only seven games left in the season after today, which means they’re running out of time to stop this three-game slide. Plus, things could get very ugly around here very soon. The World Series ended and New York awoke from its Yankee hangover and said “Holy cow! What happened to the Giants?!?” A loss today and we’ll have two long weeks to analyze that question. Two weeks of psycho-analyzing Eli Manning, Bill Sheridan, Brandon Jacobs and Tom Coughlin.
