Denver Broncos starting strong safety Hamza Abdullah and strong side linebacker Boss Bailey both missed practice time this morning, the team's official blog reports. Bailey was held out the entire practice with knee inflammation, and Abdullah missed the final portion of practice with a slight groin injury. Peyton Hillis, Chad Mustard, and Tom Nalen, whose MRI came back negative, were also held out of practice once again. Michael Pittman dressed in jersey and pads but never saw the field, and Montrae Holland continued to try and remove his TFTP status on the sled. The biggest concern with Boss has always been that troublesome knee of his. No word yet on how serious Boss' knee is, but let me be the first to overreact and say "DAMMIT THIS SUCKS." Hopefully it's just end-of-the-week soreness and nothing too major.

Lions tales: No Lynch, a pair of centers and how many D-linemen are too many?

There will be no Marinelli - Lynch reunion: You knew the beat guys would ask Rod Marinelli about John Lynch when it was announced he was leaving the Broncos. Turns out he Lions have no need for a 37 year old safety, former Buc or not. It might have been a good story, but it wouldn't have been a good football decision. Purdue 2008: Tiller On A Treadmill

The Story If you had told Joe Tiller in 1997 that he would be shuffling off this Big Ten coil before the conference's other patriarch named Joe, he probably would have been surprised. "You traveled back in time to tell me that?" he'd ask. "What the hell is wrong with you? Don't you have family members to warn or large New York buildings to save or something...

Bears Have No Interest in Former Bronco John Lynch

Despite it appearing like it might be a good fit, the Bears seem to have no interest for now in recently released safety John Lynch. The 36-year-old got what he wanted when the Broncos let him go after he threw a fit and left the team over what he felt was a lack of playing [...]
