Is Brett really gone, for real?

Tuesday morning I got a call at 6:30 in the morning some telling me that Brett Favre told the media that he is retiring after 17 years in the NFL. As a teammate, I dunno. We still have hope, because look at Roger Clemens... and Michael Strahan.

Until training camp opens I don't believe that he is going to fully retire. He loves the game too much. And we were so close this year, why not give us another chance?

I had to vent a little bit because people kept texting me and calling me about it so...just wanted to let you guys know. Hit me back.

I would still have hope Jarrett because my gut feeling says that he is going to come back. Once training camp hits the love and passion for the game will kick back in.

yea lets hope so!

Man, it just feels so weird to know that Brett Favre is done, not going to play again. Considering I'm only a teen, it's even weirder cuz ever since I started watching football as a little kid, he was always there, and now to not see him anymore,it just won't be the same w/o him.

Hey Jarrett, you know Duke is going to take down UNC this weekend, just preparing you now. Go Duke!

TAR HEELSD RULE!! baby!! kickin some blue devil BOOTY!!

come on, Duke at home, and on Senior Night, no way UNC wins. DeMarcus Nelson is going to take over.

I'm with JB on this one, TC.

UNC!

Nah, don't be puttin me on Mac Blast, D-Man! Duke at home and on Senior Night, Duke all the way. DeMarcus going to go off

HAAHAH HOW BOUT THEM TAR HEELS BABAY!!

you know what JB, I don't want to hear it, I've heard enough of it at school and lost a whole bunch of $, so I'm tired of it

I don't think we've seen the last of #4 just yet. Wait 'til TC... ;-)

as an eagles fan i can say that i'm going to miss the competition and all the great plays #4 has made on us. one of the greatest to ever play the game.

AGREED!!! thanks

I second that ainteasy. If he doesn't come back to play-he'd make one helluva coach. I don't think he'd be content in a media booth.
On another note-how long can Aaron be held off?! He's been mentored by one of the best in the biz- can't wait to see what he's got.

he'd make one helluva coach. I don't think he'd be content in a media booth.

HUH< that's a good observation M2a2.........i never even thought of him doing that...ROCK!

yea aaron has a great arm..he actually throws a better ball than brett...but brett...you know he is BRETT FAVRE...and alot of game experience

Don't give up... you can only fish and golf so long before you want to be back on the field. When June rolls around, he may come back!

man i hope he does..thanks

You know, I really hope not. It will feel so odd to watch the games without him playing.
It's hard to wrap around that thought because the team was really clicking this last season.
If he doesn't come back there will always be a "what if" factor, but on the flip side it was a great year for him and a fitting way to leave.
I'm with ya though, we can hope... and I will continue to do so until then.

me and you both !! just keep ur fingers crossed and pray !!

It is so hard to know that he is gone, but I feel that I will come to accept it eventually. He's the only Packers quarterback I have ever known and all, but I feel the organization is headed in the right direction. I really feel Rodgers can lead this team. Jarrett, you should be honored to have played with this man. You are lucky.

i am very lucky...and honored that he was come up behind me and slapp my butt as hard as he possibly could!! ha!

i must say, im not really a favre fan, but being at a game where he played u just get that feeling that theres a legend on the field, it really is incredible. he has been doing this retiring thing for a while though, and i personally think he was a little disgruntled that the packers organization did not get him anymore weapons, but i wouldnt mind seeing him play one more season because last year i said he was too old and thought he would ruin his reputation of greatness but he proved me wrong. good luck jarrett even tho you guys will be great without him.

you say your not a favre fan..but you want to see him play another year...its ok to admit that you are a favre fan...haha i am! and he is my former teammate! :)

haha come onnn, i meann hes good i guesssss...but dont mean im a fan...just wait til u play the birds baby..ur goin down jarretttt

Yea I think you will be seeing number 4 back next year... I am with tcbailey, I have seen Favre my whole life, and it will feel weird not to see him anymore. BUT... I think Aaron Rodgers is going to be one hell of a qb in the near future. Hell why not start this coming up year??? He can do it.

it's my understanding he's speaking at NOON today re his retirement, cheers for the great blog

It was emotional to watch him today, but I am happy for him, ya know?
It won't be the same, but damn I am so proud he was our QB for 17 seasons!
He really captured the meaning of football and everything that we love about it.
I will miss him greatly!
It's awesome you were able to call him your teammate...

How bout them Heels man!

HELL YEA!! GO HEELS
