It's Official: LaDainian Tomlinson Is A Sissy

For the last two weeks, L.T. has been telling everyone who will listen that he couldn't finish the last playoff game because of his sprained MCL. Yet this morning, we've learned that Plaxico Burress played last nights game with a sprained MCL, a high ankle sprain, and possibly torn ligaments... oh yeah, and he caught the game winning TD pass.

Been wondering about this guy since the Pats game. I haven't heard any official word on what's wrong with him. Of course, anything short of surgery this offseason would not validate what he did.

I think he had a sprained MCL but didn't require surgery. LT has been getting a bad rap lately...can't understand why though. He puts up the numbers consistently but has little playoff experience to showcase that. Norv Turner hasn't really used him to his full potential this year I don't think

I think L.T. got more of a bad rap because he sat there like a statue and didn't exhort his teammates on to victory. That looked as bad as coming out of the game.

totally agree, shoot there are guys that get carried out on a stretcher still cheering for their team......or do i watch too many movies?

I think that I have seen plenty of that in real life. Good point.

All I know is, Plax earned himself an ironman title. He's been playing hurt all year long

I'lll give Plax his due but he didn't practice once all year. He played football 20 times this year. I'm not putting him Cal Ripken or Brett Favre territory just yet.

PRACTICE. We talking about PRACTICE. We talking about PRACTICE. Not a game that I go out there and die for and play every game like it's my last. Not the game. We talking about PRACTICE man.

He didn't practice, to spare his ankle and save it for the game.

classic A.I. !!!!

Nice!!! Plaxico is a man. No doubt. (So is A.I.)

This is true...

yep...total puss...n a da biggest crybaby in the NFL..."they did shawne's dance on after the game and that sdirespectful"...quit cryin about ti and take it to em!

well, he does need to run/get hit a lot more than plax does...
and it's not like mike turner and darren sproles are terrible...

yea, if he would have been involved with teamates on the sideline, i think people would be less hard on him.

Yea...i think people would be less hard on you.

im going to give plax his props that he deserves!
he didnt even practice once all year, and he went out there and grinding all 20 games and won the superbowl. plus on top of that he nailed his prediction!

Norv Turner completely threw LT under the bus so to speak. LT should have contiued to try to play until he was pulled by the coach. It's not LT job to determine the team is better off with someone else playing. If he was really to hurt to play coach Turner should have said he pulled him. otherwise he should have had his multimillion dollar knee on the field.

first of all, if you had listened to Lee Hamilton's interview with LT last week, you would've known that when he got hit the first time by Seau, his knee stiffened up and it got swollen and he could barely put any pressure on it. Now it's all on the team for saying that his knee was 100% even though it wasn't, and how anybody can say that a guy that hasn't missed 1 game in 8 seasons before this one is a wuss is a moron. You don't agree? Call Hacksaw on XTRA Sports 1360. Voice your opinion and make sure you mention that it was his producer talking all this crap, but setting the record straight!

If LT was too hurt to play the team should have said so. That's exactly what i just said. The team did not say that, therefore we have to believe it was LTs decision. As long as he can breathe he needs to try and play. let the coach pull him. So either LT is a wuss or Norv Turner is the worst coach ever. only time will tell

You've got to cut LT some slack and not compare his injury to someone else. Injuries obviously vary in severity and they play different positions. He tried playing with the torn ligament and was ineffective and bowed out for Michael Turner, who is a very good running back. He could have been a better teammate after he went out, but he's not being paid to be a chearleader and I can't imagine how frustrating it must have been for him to sit there and not play. If you're going to blame him for not being there for the teammates, you have to say that Shockey drinking beers in a luxury box is 10 times worse.

Shockey is a slug and a real cancer to the Giants. I think that was proven after he went out. LT probably did feel bad, but sitting there pouting the whole game with his shield on was not the biggest display of sportsmanship I have ever seen. Shockey did look a little drunk there in that one take. Was he not allowed to be on the sideline? If he was, it was not good for him to be drinking beer in a luxury box. I bet he might be out of NY next year. What do you think?

From what I understand it was Shockey's decision not to show up for media week or be on the sideline. He said he didn't want to be a distraction, but I'm not sure how much of a distraction he would have been. I believe that he was hurt by people asking if the Giants are better off without him AND hurt that the Giants WERE doing better without him. He's a talented, passionate player that plays hard nose football but his EGO is too big. He gets frustrated easily (even when the Giants are winning) and takes it out on players and coaches. If there's been one thing that has been proven over the last few years it's that character wins. Shockey has the ability, but not the character. Eli and the Giants are better off without his presence in the locker room or on the field. His absence made Eli more comfortable with his decisions and allowed him to be much more of a leader. I made the prediction that Eli would have a great post season as soon as Shocky got hurt. I'm now making the prediction that Shockey will request to be on another team before the season. He has too much of an ego to let this go.

Yes, he has a big ego, but maybe he will temper it down now that he knows he is more of a hindrance to the team the way he is acting now. I think he's a great tight end. I actually think he may be more effective now because Manning has been kind of weaned off of having to throw his way.

I would like that to be the case, but I don't think it will be. Shockey will lay low until the first sign of turbulence and then he'll start pointing the finger - afraid that it will be pointed at him. Also, after reading Yardbarker's new post about how he was boo'd at the Giant's after party, I believe he gave up on the team after he was injured. Went to FLA as rehab and tried to distance himself from a failing group of guys. How can you come back and face the team at media week or on the sideline if you haven't been there for anyone the last month?

Yeah......I didn't hear about the booing incident. Hmmm. That sheds a whole new light on the subject. He may have to go now. You are correct. It will be hard for him to return and be accepted. By the way, good job by your Giants. They caught fire at the right time and hit stride in the playoffs.

How do we know he was a bad teammate? The only time CBS cut to the sidelines was when the offense was on the field. It is true that LT was not up chatting with his defense, but if you've read any of the comments from his teammates, sideline reports, and his coaches, you'll know that when the defense was on the field, LT was conversing with Mike Turner, Sproales, Neal, and RIvers...also it was released earlier this week that his MCL sprain was further damaged on the first play.
Also let's consider the alternative, let's say that LT played thru his pain while he couldn't cut effectively and the chargers lost. What would the media be saying? That he was selfish for not realizing he wasn't effective and he had the best backup in the NFL waiting on the sideline. I think LT made the right decision by letting Turner finish the game, i think the charger medical staff screwed LT's rep in an attempt to use him as a decoy.

LT cant have any slack because his QB had surgery and didnt even have an ACL to play in that game, PLUS he played the WHOLE GAME...LT played like 1 possesion! he doesnt deserveto be called the best RB in the game right now. Right now i rather have Ahmad Bradshaw over him just because the fact the i know he wont quit on their team in a big game...what a disappointment!

Bradshaw over LT? I don't think I could go that far. Bradshaw has a lot to prove in this league before he can even be mentioned in the same breath as Tiki Barber, much less LT.

Who is better, an injured LT or a healthy Michael Turner - isn't that the only question that matters? Wasn't LT being selfless?

Perhaps the QB shouldn't have played. He couldn't get the team in the end zone. They were down there all day and he couldn't plant and throw. Perhaps if he stepped out and let a healthy Volek play the results would have been different. Calling LT a pussy is a joke and comparing him to Bradshaw is stupid. There's no comparison.

Tiki was over-rated. Bradshaw and Jacobs is the future. with Tiki out of the way, they were allow to move forward. Easy-Eli definitely benefited with Tiki's retirement. Has anyone heard from that arrogant clown? I would have loved to been a fly on the wall when Tiki saw the end of the game. I would have fell off the wall, laughing. I'm sure he did a Belichick exit, from the room

yeah.
bradshaw and jacobs is. they is.

Everytime I've watched LT (games and interviews) I get the feeling he puts in 100% emotion and ability. Just because he wasn't jumping up and down during the game doesn't mean he didn't feel the impact of not being able to contribute. Remember when Shaun Alexander was concussed yet was jumping up and down on the sidelines? That didn't give the impression of a true injury and inability to play.
LT on the other hand did resemble a player unable to go and carrying a heavy heart not being able to contribute on the big stage.

Something tells me that if San Diego was winning, he probably would have jumped off of that bench and started cheering though.

LT is such a bad teammate that his actual teammates, who might know something about that, voted him MVP of the team the day after the AFCt game and prior to all this supposition coming out. Why was he wearing his helmet, I don't know but I do know it was cold. Or would that be too simplistic? Why does he wear the dark shield. My understanding is because he suffers from migraines triggered by prolong light exposure. I also think you need a medical excuse to wear these in the NFL. He is a great player and actually tries to be a good role model. That of course will always be an invitation for the envious, the pessimists and those with lower forms of ethics in this society to try to tear you down.

He got the MVP of the team for helping the get to the game with the Pats. He didn't get it for sitting on the bench during the AFC Championship game. I have had a lot of respect for LT in the past, but I still have to question his motives in that particular game. His QB was out there busting his butt with an injury that was probably worse than what he had.

Yo, yo got to understand that LT would have been in there playing if he could have been. when is the last time he missed a game?
been a long fucking time hasn't it.
it isn't his fault that the Chargers coaching staff guarenteed LT to play because he was healthy.
Did LT once say anything about being healthy enough to play?
no he did not. but at least he didn't retreat to the locker room after attempting to play on his injured MCL and messing it up worse.
What was he supposed to do to appease you people.
play injured and risk making it a career ending injury?
that would be stupid, since ever since LT has been drafted San Diego has had more decent season's then not.
Having Rivers playing instead of Starting Volek was also a dumb move. because An injured quarterback playing over a healthy one hindered our preformance.
LT is a good teamate, a good role model, and an amazing all around RB who knows how to get the job done.
so stop bagging on him because your jealous your team doesn't have an LT caliber RB
People have compared him to Walter Payton and i think he is just like him... and if anybody can bring a superbowl to SD it would be LT and our current Roster.
So unless you Don't have better things to do then to diss on an athlete who tried to play but hurt himself worse, Shut the fuck up and bitch about your own sad lives.
i am a chargers fan and you don't see me talking shit on the man who made us the team we are today.
Grow the hell up people. would you go play injured?
no i bet most of you are fat 40 year old men. who still live in their mommies basements and don't even know what the touch of a women feels like.
i do play running back, i am 19 years old, and i would try to play injured unless it would benefit my team otherwise. Go bolts 2009 superbowl champs!

You are an idiot. LT is easily one of the most classy players in the game. He's nothing like those slimy Patriots. In fact, he and Peyton Manning were voted the "Most Liked/Friendly/Kind Players" by not only their teammates but by players from other teams as well. LT is one of the greatest players of our time and he needs to sit out if he's injured because running backs already have less longevitiy in the NFL than many of the other positions. What would the point be in injuring himself so he couldn't play this year? You are the true pussy. No, wait, you're probably just a Patriot fan. Haha, too bad that in their "best year ever" they couldn't win the Superbowl. That was one of the best days of my life.
