Yesterday it was reported that Brian Westbrook was telling people that he had a new deal, today we have confirmation from PhiladelphiaEagles.com. Terms of the deal were not announced, but you can bet it is something less than the 3 years, 30 million dollars that Westbrook wanted. Westbrook is arguably one of the top five running backs in the league and is definitely the most valuable offensive player the Eagles have, so whatever bonus or extension he received is worth it. As long as Westbrook...

no doubt, you have him for all his prime years now, locking him up...crucial is an understatement...BW is so multi-faceted and the difference maker on your O...was impressed with McNabb last night...looked ready to go now for season...don't mind me as I'm straying off topic a little on her, but enjoyed that game last night

I'm glad this is over. For the past 2 months, this story has been more annoying in Favre. Especially for being a Raven fan stuck in philly.

Ravens hastepaste guy - are you serious? BWest story more annoying and longer then the Favre of our Lives soap opera. Not even close guy. Be an Eagles hater somewhere else then Philly my man.

How long the Farve thing been going on for? And it's only been REALLY bad the past week or two. Having to Listen to ESPN 950 AM every day talking about the Westbrook situation (well at the very least their radio blurb commercials), that was bad...

Anyways about the contract. I'm curious how long it is, how much it is, and if he holds up for the entire thing.

i've heard reports that it's a 6 year deal, and i've heard reports it's a 3 year deal, which is it?
    PE.com 6 year. NFL.com 3 year

I think the deal adds 3 more years to his current contract which lasts 3 more years, making it a 6 year deal in all.

.. probably not the articlce to post this in.. but i think Jerome Mcdougal played a hell of a game.. *according to wha i was hearin on the radio anyways*

FO couldn't afford to mess up this relationship. Good move by them. Not so good for the rest of us.

yeah but they need to get on Lito....
Samuel and Sheppard would be terrific.... Samuel and brown is a slight upgrade
      • FIVERINGS
Yeah......the do. Keeping that secondary intact would be the best for the Eagles. Comments made by Lurie may not help the situation, but they don't have much longer to use Lito as trade bait. Season starts soon. Secondary would still be in good shape without Lito, but much much better with him.

        big-time agree on Lito
        • orions
as far as Eagle FO needs to keep him!...is that what you meant Squish? keep him or ship him out?
        • squish059
keep him 4 sure.... if they move him outta town we would be doing ourselves a disservice
  • Flabuckeye
Cleveland my be looking at Lito............how dependable is he ( asking Eagle fans).

Philly crew breathing a huge sigh of relief...what's take on last night's game Eagles fans? Eagle WRs looked damn good...PITT looks like they will have strong running game once again

Didn't get to watch any of that game as I was at the baseball game. Heard DeSean Jackson looked fairly good. Ray of hope in the receiving corps maybe. I'm sure Cleveland would love to have Lito, but what are they going to give Philly in return? Winslow? Braylon Edwards? I don't think they would let go of either of those guys for Lito. I think Lito is stuck in Philly and is going to have to live with it this season.
