Despite signing only last Tuesday, tackle Levi Jones was active on Monday night while 2008 third-round draft pick Chad Rinehart did not dress. Rinehart initially started in place of right guard Randy Thomas when the veteran was lost for the season with a torn triceps, but was benched for Mike Williams and then Will Montgomery, who started there against the Philadelphia Eagles in Monday's loss. Jones, who was brought in to provide depth at tackle after the loss of Chris Samuels, who is expected to miss the season with stenosis, dressed, as did undrafted rookie Edwin Williams. "When I signed I knew they was lacking depth along the O-line especially at tackle so I mean I considered [being active so soon]," Jones said.
