Kevin Ellison signs 4 year deal with Bolts One of the reasons I love, and I am such a fan of the Chargers is because they sign a lot of my favorite college football players. The Chargers signed Jacob Hester, a favorite of mine to watch at LSU, in the second round of the 2008 NFL draft and he has already made an impact on the Chargers offense. Just recently the Chargers have signed a great product of USC, Kevin Ellison to a 4 year contract. After being such a huge Trojan fan, I am very excited about this signing. Kevin Ellison was one of my favorite Trojans to watch because he always looked so pumped to be playing the game of football. Ellison made tackles and deflected passes with style. Ellison graduated a semester early from high school and enrolled at USC in the spring of 2005. As freshman he spent most of his time as a backup safety and on special teams, and was selected to The Sporting News Pac-10 All-Freshman first team. In 2006 he became the team’s starting strong safety, finishing with 64 tackles, one interception, and 1.5 sacks. He made the 2006 Collegefootballnews.com Sophomore All-American second team and was an All-Pac-10 honorable mention. In 2007 Ellison started all 13 games, finishing with 57 tackles, two interceptions, and two sacks. Welcome Kevin Ellison! I can’t wait to see you crush some skulls this season!
