As much as it might be difficult to tear us away from the DT Ed Johnson saga, which didn't need much help taking on an extended life of its own, I don't want to forget the other issue of what was supposed to be a quiet bye week. All of those bloggers looking for the redux, I've got it finished and will file on Friday.
I had to chuckle when learning the Colts were taking a look at kicker Matt Stover to replace Adam Vinatieri, who made 6-of-8 field goals this season despite a sore right knee that he never said a word about.
Before the Colts traveled to Baltimore for the AFC Divisional playoff game in January of 2007, I spent the week in that city getting to know the Ravens. Planning the stories, you think special teams. In the past, when making trips to New England, it was the obligatory feature or notebook lead on the kickers, Vinatieri (the Patriot) and Mike Vanderjagt.
