Lavar Arrington and the Skins Still Not on Good Terms

Arrington is a pretty good linebacker and I was surprised to hea the Redskins released him. It seems like he may have had some problems with the team though. Can anyone shed light on the matter?

These comments basically mirror what coaches had said about Arrington last season. He was making mental mistakes early in the season which got him benched. He didn't take it well. The coaches gave their reasoning for taking him out of the lineup, but the media ran with it in a way that sounded like Arrington was too stupid to learn Greg Williams defense. It escalated to the point where Arrington paid the Redskins millions just to release him from his contract. The fact that he was still having knee problems last season probably didn't help.
